today i said goodbye to my dear friend Mal. With sadness and a heavy heart i bid him farewell. Mal was a part of so many peoples lives and he showed me that no matter your age you can always do with one more friend. I am filled with so much sadness for the friend i cannot replace. i recieved the news of his death before christmass and today we buried him . goodbye did not seem good enough and i am left feeling sad and lost.

I had a good weekend. I'm still super excited about entering the International Street Photography Awards over Christmas. I should try to forget about it a little (I have my mind on something else as well though hehe), but I'm just so excited about it. I don't know why. I've never won a photography competition before. But you gotta dream big, else what's the point? Actually it's just as well the first prize doesn't involve a Leica camera or I'd be quite disappointed if...
Today is a sad day, after hearing the awful news that a Sydney Cancer Patient, Kristian Anderson (who met his fame after posting the following video on the internet) has died. I wanted to share with you his video, and the story to go with, because, while we Australians may be familiar with his story, I am aware that the majority of the population on Macmillan is from overseas, and may not be so familiar. And I wanted you all to see it:

She came to live with us cos she needed 24hour care and we didnt want her in a care home. She was only aloud at a cancer home, where people go to die. So we made her live at ours so we could look after her.

Tonight I am very angry, so angry I dont know where to start.
My husband was supposed to have a cafeter in yesterday, when I left today he still hadnt got one.
He was soaking wet and had been for some time when I got there. He is semi-awake, sometimes he trys to get a bottle but doesnt manage.
Because he is very uncomfortable to be moved around, he is naked lying on his bed with just a sheet over him. He is in and out of sleep, but trys to use a bottle, no curtains around because as I said hes not...
It's been a bit up and down for the past week. We have had days of excessive mucous, nausea, vomiting and exhaustion and some other better days. I think overall things are improving a little. Unfortunately the treatment has upset Pat's Diabetes so we have had a leg infection to cope with.
I, of for my sins got a bladder infection on Christmas Eve and by the time I got to a doctor on Wednesday it had got a hold but is improving.
Tonight we are going in to neighbours to see in the New Year...
Right so feeling like a rant to finish 2011 . At the start of December I had a lump removed that has been there for well over a year. I have been to the doctors/hospital about it several times and after scans have always been told its just a lipoma a fatty lump, nothing to worry about and certainly don't need to remove it! But something has been niggling away in the back of my mind so I went back to the hospital last summer and they agreed to remove it. I had it taken out at the start of December...
Christmas & moving house has been a great distraction however now I am left thinking about what is happening and finding it difficult to not break down. I have so many questions again but the one, the main and most important one is when will I know if they got it all, and if it has spread anywhere else. Trying to organise life post op is quite stressful but I do have amazing friends who have stepped up as I only knew they would. Still, I am utterly terrified of what comes next and can't stop...
