    Things Progressing

Hi started this blog but do not know what i am doing really.  Not sure how all this blog thing works so i hope i manage to create this blog.

Just want to write how things seem to be progressing with my hsubands illness.

Short description of how things are.  My husband is a stroke victim and is unable to communicate but his intelligence has not been affected.  It has been like this for 12 years and i have basically made most of his judgements for him or as the medical profession put it i am his advocate...

Light at the end of the tunnel.......................

It has been a difficult few months since the ileostomy reversal but over the last 2 weeks things have started to improve slightly......hurray!!!

I took some antibiotics that my gynae consultant gave me as he advised that radiotherapy can kill a lot of the good bacteria in your bowel and make some nasty stuff grow. During the treatment I felt like I had gone back to square one but once the treatment finished I have to say things seemed to settle bit. I am still unable to go out unless I don't eat...

  • When my heart began to break
    Just don't know :'(
I awake this morning but unfortunately this nightmare called cancer is still taking over my family, why couldn't it be an awful dream instead of a nightmare that seems to get worse day by day. My dad has his meeting with the oncologist today, he finds out if his cancer has spread. We already know it has spread to lymph nodes but he had a pet scan Tuesday so the news could be worse :( Yesterday my mum came round, as she often does as we live in the same road. She told me about dads appointment...

  • AML - A Patients Husbands Diary

The last couple of days were going quite good for my wife... then today she started to feel the chemo side effects. It is very scary being only able to sit there watching her in pain. The niurses and staff are fantastic and sympathetic. I have started to become acclimatised to the situation, not happy but accepting it, i am still absolutely petrified. I have noticed hair coming away from my wife just the odd strand, maybe its my imagination but i dont know????  I try to brush them away when she is...

    Changes are acoming!!

    Changes are a coming!

    Where do I start?

Those of you who maybe don’t know me, I’ve been trolling around this site for a few years after a diagnosis of rectal cancer.  I had chemo/RT, surgery which resulted in a permanent stoma and more chemo.  I’m now two years post op. and crossing everything that things will continue in the good
direction that it is at present.

Most of you also know that I am a brittle asthmatic and it’s this I want to share with you.  In my mid
    twenties...
