It's been a long time since I last posted. It's been 4 months since Grandma passed away and life is slowly getting back to normal (whatever normal is mind you!)
My birthday was hard, no card off Grandma was hard to deal with. She would also call me for a chat, I missed that so much this year. Waiting for my next lot of chemo. Trying to get it at my local hospital but doctor want's me to go to Bart's, where I have been before and they were all very helpful and very nice, but I have to get the train and travel on the tube. I'm not great with trains in the rush hour (that's mostly when my appointments are) all those people crushed together. My amazing big sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June a few days after our brother, Peter, he died on 28th June 2 weeks after being diagnose!! Chris has been having chemo and she was at the hospital on monday 20th for a scan to see if the cancer has spread, she gets her results on September 3rdm why does she have to wait so long, it's like a ticking time bomb,mental torture! When she was diagnosed her partner asked were her chances 50/50 and the doctor told them more like 70/30...........
DAY 2
By 10 am we had stillnot heard from the hospital about my husband's test results and when we could go and discuss them. My husband phoned the hospital and was told he had been transferred to a different consultant and that a letter had been sent with an appointment for 3rd September!
Appointment ? they had said we could go to the endoscopy ward for a chat. I then phoned the ward as I got no joy speaking to the consultants' secretaries.We now are seeing the new consultant onFriday at 9...
It's been nearly 2 months since dad died. Now I can sit back and look at all that has happened. I can only describe watching someone you love with terminal cancer, die before you, as a hurricane hitting the house with everyone inside. We could see it coming but boy, it knocked us off our feet.
We clung on to each other scared, terrified, afraid at this monster that raged past us, destroying everything that was safe and secure. There were moments of calm. When we could talk even laugh and joke...

Last Monday my husband had a colonoscopy.We were ushered into a tiny room with not enough chairs and no windows to be told a polyp had been found at it was 'significant'. The next step they said was a CT scan in the next 10 days then the case would be discussed by the Multi Disciplinary Team on the Monday following the CT scan. On the same day I was told my mother has a nodule on her right lung.

Before I go too far I first want to point out the excellent and speedy treatment I received once diagnosed with bowel cancer just before Christmas 2011. I Started my Chemo and Radio therapy in January 2021, and was operated on, on the 29th May 2012 ( bad timing in that it meant I spent the Jubilee Weekend stuck in hospital.) Hi all, Had my 4th and hopefully last Chemo. on Friday 10th. Everything was ok until last Monday (13th) then all the side effects kick in for about 5 days. The tiredness was the worst this time probably due to having had 4 doses of chemo. I have an infection in my arm again probably due to the many blood tests,canula's etc..
