Chemo No. 4 Hopefully the last one !!!

1 minute read time.

Hi all, Had my 4th and hopefully last Chemo. on Friday 10th. Everything was ok until last Monday (13th) then all the side effects kick in for about 5 days. The tiredness was the worst this time probably due to having had 4 doses of chemo. I have an infection in my arm again probably due to the many blood tests, canula's etc.. Almost finished antibiotics but it has not cleared up yet so going back to Doctor today. We went away to Dream time house on Friday thanks to Gill & Ellie letting us have use of the house. We had a lovely weekend, went to Minehead on the steam train and went to Burnham, also had a couple of visits to Clarks village outlet. Still waiting for our new car and really struggling with getting my scooter in & out of our tiny boot but at least we are getting around thanks to the scooter. I have a full body ct scan on 4th Sept. and see the oncologist again on 20th ( might try to get this earlier), hopefully will get good news although the lump in my neck is still there but is definately smaller than before chemo. I think the Oncologist will give me a 3 month break after seeing me in September and I will have another scan probably around early December to see what is happening but of course I will have some idea of what is going on by the lump in my neck. I'm still feeling very tired but this will hopefully improve over the next weeks and months with no chemo. To be quite frank, if this chemo does not keep the cancer at bay I will forever regret having it, it really knocks you about, I have read many stories of people having no tangible benefit from chemo. Hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones. Hope this does not upset anyone but chemo. is poison pure & simple, I was feeling well before the chemo and now I feel s - - - a lot of the time. Hope everyone is keeping well, don't worry about my little rant, I'm having a slightly down day. Love to all, Dave
