Hi everyone,

Thanks for everyone's previous messages - they made interesting reading! I LOL at the 'plaster jokes' ouch!
Dad was heartbroken at the weekend lots of tears! but Dad saw his Oncologist today and things seem a little more positive. She said she had seen people come back from where Dad is at the moment (initially given 1-2 years!) it...
One week short of the one year anniversary of the op and Im still standing!!!! True, that it has been tough with some difficult and testing times along the way. And even though the current tiredness is a daily frustration, its good to see just how far I have come since being diagnosed with Stomach Cancer. So its a good to see the publication of my book "Cancer- its not to be scared of" be released for online publication today because it details my exploits with Cancer to date. I do hope that it...
It’s been over a month since I was on here last and a lot has happened.
My December Chemo wasn’t that great, I felt ill after both lots with the one on Christmas Eve being the worst. My taste buds went haywire and everything tasted like nothing you would really want to eat! Christmas dinner was awkward as I’m sure you can guess, all that time preparing and cooking it and it didn’t taste great but my wife understood. My tongue feels quite sore although looks fine, the front of it feels like...
Just gave myself a needle for the first time- feeling like a badass! Still not looking forward to side effects that should be coming in the next hour or so but SO happy I managed to face my fear of needles!
After 2 weeks off of interferon self-injections, I'm starting back up later tonight. Definitely not looking forward to it! I still haven't braved doing it myself so a nurse comes around 8:00 and then I'll feel crappy from about 9 until tomorrow afternoon. And my doctor told me the side effects will probably be bad tonight since my body will need to get used to the drug again. Chills, fever, nausea, back pain, panic attacks, restlessness, exhaustion and insomnia (how I can be exhausted...
I'm so glad to be alive, and its 2013!
2012 was a year of such extremes highs and lows. I loved the Olympics and paras, saw my youngest turn 21. hated the weather, semi liked my holidays this year, and fell to an all time low when my dear mum died in September, did a lot of comfort eating and am now 2 stone overweight. Time to pick myself up, dust myself off and make the most of the wonderful life that God has given me. No more sitting around and moping or feeling sorry for myself. Its 2013...
Well in some ways the year seems to have flown past, in others not so much. I miss having David around to back me up with the children and as a consequence they push me to my limits and sometimes beyond.
Last New Years eve I tripped while cleaning the stairs after one of my son's was sick, and tore the legiment in my left thumb, I had to have an operation - fortunatly day surgery. But this meant I was reliant on my parents for support with the kids for 48 hours as I didn't have a partner to help...
Dad went for his Endoscope thing up his backside.
Had an appointment with a consultant, who said about having an operation to remove.
We had a reasonable Christmas and New Year, making the most to be together.
Yesterday Dad got a call from the hospital to come up to A&E, as they wanted to see him. He thought it a bit strange, but tropsed up to the hospital all the same with my mum in tow. However when they got there no-one seemed to be expecting them, one nurse said to my dad not to worry it...
A bit of good news today...dads cancer has not spread anywhere else....at least now it makes things a bit easier!! he went out to celebrate in style...treating himself to a fry up!!
