Week/Weak 1

Less than one minute read time.

I'm one week into my treatment for Hodgkin Lymphoma and in all honesty not feeling half as bad as I expected. I'm aware that this will probably change and I won't be able to carry on "as normal" as I have been this last week, however I'll try to as long as I can.

This week I've generally felt run down and look like Renton from Trainspotting but with more spots. Shallow as it may be, my appearance is the one thing I'm struggling with the most but hopefully this will begin to clear up.

Next week I get my second dose of chemo and I also plan to get on a static turbo trainer so I can at least get on the bike and try and keep some sort of fitness.

As sad as it makes me that there are so many cancer sufferers on this website its also a huge comfort I'm not going through this alone.

    Hi trean,

Welcome to the Online Community. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but it's good that you are not finding treatment too bad so far.

I'm glad that you've found our site, and that it has helped you to read other people's stories. I see that you've already joined Hodgkin Lymphoma groupo, which is a really good place to get support from others with similar cancer types. We also have a group called 16-24 and Living with Cancer, if you would like to speak to members close to your own age.

Another really good way to get support is to give our team a call on the free Macmillan Support Line (0808 808 0000, Mon-Fri, 9am-8pm). Our specialist nurses can help answer questions about things like the problems you're having with your skin - and you can also call if you just need to talk.
