  • Dear Husband, I will be there for you, every step of the way, right by your side.
    My final goodbye
With a packed church and many good people around me I got through the farewell service. How I did I will never know. Our three sons were simply amazing . Their dad would have been so proud. My husband said I would find the strength from somewhere and as always he was right. But how my heart grieves for him now.

A look on the bright side
While M was having his second round of chemo yesterday and I was at work keeping the business going I got round to thinking about how some things have changed for the better since diagnosis. It sometimes takes a major event to rock your world and make you rethink how you've been living. We have a business which we've built up over the past eight years and until this June everything we did was about the business, every waking moment was spent on the business, we rarely took time off and I spent...

    Where to go from here

Maybe surgery...

Please for now, can you see my profile. I explained my sons details there. I didn't realize how to do this. I can not go through typing it again right now. This is so hard to deal with. Thank you so much for any thoughts you can offer. God bless you all.

  • Non Hodgkin Lymphoma - One Careful Owner
    The halfway mark!

My compulsion to write about every inch of my not so exciting existence has waned somewhat since I re-discovered what it's like to sleep, and boy can I sleep right now! Today was the first day I managed to stay awake, just about, for a full day.

I'm sure this new found desire to sleep all the bloody time is in part due to the joys of radiotherapy but in part I think I'm just so thrilled that I'm nolonger being disturbed by such violent dreams, that I feel like I ought to grasp the opportunity...

    My contribution...

I’ve sometimes blogged and often blagged,

    Divulged, indulged and also bragged,

I've even roped in stripey kitty,

She's fat, the angle isn't pitty...

    So now I’m banging tambourines,

I’m on the soap box, making dreams,

A magic wand I never mastered,

But on and on I’ll wave the b*stard

Fundraisers give a good deal too,

-Just think of all the my mail to you...

In my attempt to make this happen,

With all that Ailsa …happy clap’pen!

    It's personal...

  • Might have the WC blues
    Summertime....

    And the biopsy was useless!!

Sorry, unless you're a Gershwin fan like me, that will probably have been lost on you.

Well, had a call from the hospital saying I was 'booked to have a procedure under general anaesthetic' - first I'd heard of it! But I did say at the previous appointment that if they were going 'down under' again I wanted to be knocked out, so at least the doctor listened. The hysteroscopy is on Tuesday next, pre-op on Friday, results.... no idea, but I bet it's another fortnight...

    With friends like that...

One of the other things I've really noticed is how very much you find out who you're friends really are when soemthing like this happens.  I've had pleasant suprises and I've had some suspicions confirmed about certain people.

One person in particular has truly amazed me and not in a good way.  After questionning our 8 year old daughter about what tablets has mummy got (sleepers - very tired at that point) and who has been to the doctors when she got no answer I told her that M has...

    Diagnosis and then what?

On a sunny Thursday afternoon in June our world changed, at that moment in time it dissolved.  I hadn't slept properly for weeks before that point - waiting for results is modern day torture - someone knows and you don't.

Friday morning we sat for what felt like a lifetime waiting to see the consultant, who confirmed the NHL diagnosis and then went on to treatment.  When I heard the word chemotherapy my heart broke, my strong, lovely and kind husband was to go through chemo.  The doctor and...
