    Night out with the Pals
Told the pals I wasn't sitting around waiting for the "News", as at the rate they go I could be offski before it arrives! We're eating out on Friday, 5 of us. They like their booze, big time, but I'm tee-total due to the meds. Bless them, they've purchased some non-alcoholic wine, which they will decant into wee plastic bottles & smuggle in in their handbags so that I don't feel left out! I just love them women! Supportive or what? God bless & hugs to all of you. X ...

My hair has started to fall out
Okay, it has begun. My hair has started to fall out. It is such a creepy feeling to comb your hair and have what look like hair extensions fall into your hands! I'm not due for any kind of hair thingie until Thursday but just in time! And I think I will opt for a wig. At first I was thinking of getting something conservative...a headband and 'page-boy' style wig. But what the heck? I think I may get lots of curls!! We shall see what I look like in it first! I don't think I can do the scarf...

    Time between chemo and surgery?
Hi, does anyone know how long after chemo surgery can happen? I really need to know as I am working all through the chemo but when it finishes I am due a scan and then bowel surgery. I am trying to organise not only my work but maybe a little holiday and my life generally. Any info gratefully received. Thanks Jen X

    Reflection
I thought that I would be able to post a blog each day as I experienced this disgusting disease and it's treatments, but I have found that everything has happened so fast for me that by the time I sit in front of my computer to write, I am exhausted and don't even want to talk about anything to do with cancer. I had borderline tumors removed in August of '08. There is no prescribed treatments for these. Good. These are 95% 'home-free' kinda 'wanna-be cancer' tumors that require excision/debulking...

    Always something...
Well, I finally got my port put in and...now I have a whopping rash. They think I am having a latent allergic response to my first chemo, carbo/tax. Now it is off to the allergist team to see what it is I am really allergic to. I am taking benadryl and prednisone (?) for it. It could be worse. Tight hugs to you.

Brain tumour diagnosed. Any advice would be helpful at this point.
I had a good prognosis originally, mastectomy, chemo & other breast removed as a precaution. Docs reconned it had gone. Not so. returned after 2 1/2 years in liver & armpit. I was devastated, not because it returned but because I had no reason to expect that to happen. Decided that I couldn't do anything except get on with things - once you have an illness you have to deal with it. No point in wishing it gone - doesn't work. Had more chemo & am still on Herceptin, which is working so far. I was...

    Feeling very alone
I feel so alone at the moment, although I know I have my family and friends right there supporting me I feel that I should be the one with all answers, especially for the children. Everything seemed great, husband home he seemed fine at first but since he has been told he has to have chemo has gone back down hill and very negative about everything. Lost his appetite, just after seeming to be getting it back, looks very pale and tired, I can't wait to see that sparkle back in his eyes again. I feel...

    help
Hello, Im 52 years old, had a total hysterectomy 4 years ago, along with radiotherapy. I am on 6 monthly check ups and everything until this morning was okay. Have had a bad cold, and a cough, On going to the toilet this morning, while having a coughing spell, fresh red blood could be seen on the paper. Just a small amount. On using my dialator nothing appears on it on removal. My mind is racing on fear that cancer has returned. I seem to have run to the loo several times, through nerves and...
