Hello, Im 52 years old, had a total hysterectomy 4 years ago, along with radiotherapy. I am on 6 monthly check ups and everything until this morning was okay. Have had a bad cold, and a cough, On going to the toilet this morning, while having a coughing spell, fresh red blood could be seen on the paper. Just a small amount. On using my dialator nothing appears on it on removal. My mind is racing on fear that cancer has returned. I seem to have run to the loo several times, through nerves and only once a pink stain on the paper. This is probably not the place to be writing this, but IAM A nervous wreck and have spent the day on auto pilot. Can anyone help me.

Hi Hopeless (although I'm sure you're not!).

First thing that came to mind was your coughing might have pulled something causing the bleeding but the only way you will know for sure is by seeing your GP! Make that appointment asap just so that you can have your mind either put at rest or referred for treatment sooner rather than later.  With what you have been through it's not surprising your head is in a whirl about what it 'might be'. So, find out for sure and then either breathe a sigh of releif that it's nothing or feel really glad you acted swiftly.  Have a big hug for now and get on that phone!!

    Take care

You are not hopeless and i can understand your worry. Sometimes i feel it easier to  write to someone that you cant see, and easier than talking face to face with anyone.  Think positive honey but please see your GP. It is probably nothing but he or she will put you on the right track.Keep us all posted and all the best. I am not an expert on your condition as i had kidney cancer. They got it all but i still tend to worry that it will come back somewhere else. So i know what you are going through.   All the best and remember the magic word. THINK POSITIVE,

I am having a 6 month check up on Wednesday, trying to stay calm and positive.  It might have been the coughing I know that having internal radiation might have thinned my vaginal wall.  Keep in touch.  There doesnt seem to be many people or advice on womb cancer.  Keep in touch
