My hair has started to fall out

1 minute read time.
Okay, it has begun. My hair has started to fall out. It is such a creepy feeling to comb your hair and have what look like hair extensions fall into your hands! I'm not due for any kind of hair thingie until Thursday but just in time! And I think I will opt for a wig. At first I was thinking of getting something conservative...a headband and 'page-boy' style wig. But what the heck? I think I may get lots of curls!! We shall see what I look like in it first! I don't think I can do the scarf and hat as I look like a 1940 refugee wearing scarves, and hats are just too annoying. I have my fingers crossed that the wig doesn't bother me or else I will have to write on my head 'Get tested' and be a bill board for Ovarian Ca (since it needs the publicity). I started knitting socks "Sock It To Cancer" ...lol...since my feet get swollen and cold. I love them. They are big and go over my other pair of socks that are cotton...then I bamm around the house with these huge feet...BAMM...BAMM...The feet are a bit better though since I sleep IN A BED now, so the circulation is better and helps drain away the edema. All in all today is a good day. Tight hug.

It's one of the major watersheds, no doubt about it.  Sending you lots of good wishes in your quest for the perfect wig!

Don't rule out hats entirely; I did for ages until my neighbour started making me fleecy Russian-style "shapkas" and I'm addicted to them now!  Also check out www.bohemia-fashions.com for patterned zandanas (kind of pre-tied scarves).  They're easy, padded so they sit well, colourful and can be quite funky!

So there is fun...of a sort...from losing your head covering.  I went out and got my hair dyed blonde 2 weeks before I started chemo because I'd always wanted to and I figured it wouldn't matter if it didn't suit me (it didn't particularly!).
