Hi all, as most of you know i was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in october, had a wide excision and sentinel node biposy which was clear in december. I have now found a very small lump(like a hard pea) behind my left ear,i dont know if i should be worried about this.My melanoma was very thin so i dont really want to call my consultant about the lump incase he thinks im being dramatic!! any ideas?? Hi Gemma,

In our position I would always get lumps checked out, but don't panic, could be just a swollen gland, have you got a sore throat or any obvious infection, cuts or scratches on your head?  I used to have a gland come up behind my ear quite a lot when I was younger and used to get myself into hot sweaty situations (physical exercise folks.. nowt more), which used to cause my head to itch, which I would scratch too much et voila... swollen gland!  If it doesn't go down within a couple of days I would certainly suggest you see your GP.
