My little boy is 7 and adores his Grandad he has been so worried about him and kept asking if he ws going to die. We told him not to be so silly of course he wouldnt!! Last week my father in law was diagnosed with Stage 3a lung cancer. He has been given 3 to 6 months. Obviously I havent told my son, Grandad has had a new lease of life and is making the most of it all. Going for long walks with...

    What can I say
Ian has got a date for his CT scan today. 7 July, which is not far off, but a bit bizzare because they only booked him in for a scan because they said they didn't want to wait so long for the 'surgical investigations' which are actually on the 6 July!

    My son's op on Monday
Started off today in tears reading Ribbsie's post about her sister dying. This bastard disease. Well, my son goes in on Friday to have 3 days of intravenous blood-pressure controlling drugs before his op on Monday. He is putting such a brave face on it, but inside I know he's really worried, and that does me in - he's trying to shoulder it all himself. We did have one piece of good news last week - his PET scan results came back clear apart from the tumour we obviously know about. I was in kitchen...

A brave man lost the fight
John lost his three year battle against this dreadful disease on Sunday with his family around him. He remained quiet and dignified till the end. We salute all the medical staff that cared for him and for us - they were truly wonderful. We are missing him so already and are finding it hard to understand that he will never come home again. Rest in peace John. Love always Moiraxxx

I asked God to spare his life and take me instead because I feel that I will be able to fight this. My dad is giving up and I dont know what to do. I cant see him in so much pain, it breaks my...
