    Upbeat message
Hi everyone I love reading the blogs on this site and I thought I would send an upbeat message about my chemotherapy treatment. After being diagnosed with this damn disease on May 1st we flew back to England for treatment (even though we have American medical insurance). Time will tell if we made the right decision. I had my 4th cycle of 6 yesterday with 2 more to go. This will be then followed by 20 sessions of external and 2 sessions of internal radiation - yuck. After reading about some...

    MDT outcome tomorrow
Read somewhere that cancer is a rollercoaster. That's how its felt to me since the diagnosis 5 weeks ago. PSA 6.8 and Biopsy result - Gleason 6 and PC in 6 of 10 cores. Had MRI last week. MDT met today and Urology Nurse will phone me tomorrow with the outcome and to start the process of options for treatment etc. Waiting to learn the stage and progress of my PC since last week has been difficult, but not long to wait now. Then away again on that roller coaster! Thanks to all who have shared their...

what a difference a week makes
Things are certainly looking up at the moment. Clive's eating has been steadily improving we even went for a chinese a few days ago which is amazing considering he was only having prescribed drinks for the last few weeks. He is so much more his normal self too, laughing and joking instead of all down in the dumps. I know the long term prognosis won't change but living for the moment things are much better.Looking forward to getting on the beach this week in the good weather hopefully!

    here we go...
Well today I went back for another PET scan (the one with all the pretty lights!). Straightforward - am I alone in finding them kind of relaxing?!? If anyone reading this doesn't know - * Drank loads of water (no food / caffeine) before (needed the toilet for the entire hour drive - ouch). * Go through their form; lie down on a little room; takes blood sample for 'sugar test' (sorry, should've asked but didn't); saline flush then very short radioactive tracer into the line; she let me use ipod...

    Fantastic News
My darling nephew today got clear scans - that's now three in a row and I am so pleased (and a bit tearful!). He had a synovial sarcoma removed last August, followed by gruelling chemo and radio, finishing in January this year. It's still a long and uncertain road ahead for him, I know, but clear scans are clear scans hey!. Love to you all out there in cyberspace and keep battling on. Sue
