    My 'luxury'

I had a totally fine blog written and went to post it only to realize that You all are five hours ahead of me and I think I was smack in the middle of the down time today.  Hence, I lost my blog (there is no way to 'save' it that I am aware of).  Boo hoo.  Suffice to say that I even wrote one...there is the catharsis/therapy.

I am slowly getting over my cold.  It is still a wee bit in my chest...never fully got hold in there.  I think catching it on the day of chemo helped.  The chemo won't let...

Another slide on the downhill slope

We went to the pain management clinic yesterday, it seems that the tumour is blocking the lymph nodes in dads groin so his leg is swollen to double the size of his other leg.  They are changing his medication he is being taken off the slow release and breakthrough morphine tablets and put on other kinds, I am not so convinced about this.  His appetite has gone he is starting to show signs that me and mum knew would be a sign of him getting worse, things seem to be tough to take just now.  I suppose...

    Cancer Care Cymru!

Just read a report on our local news to say that Cancer Care Cymru, our local based charity, have now run out of cash.  The Specialist Nurses that have been appointed to patients in our Cancer Hospital at Velindre, Nr Cardiff  and Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, for the last few years, finally finished today.

Peter and I are so sorry to hear this and will miss our allocated Specialist Nurse Jane Humphries.  We'd like to thank her for all her support since his diagnosis a year ago.  We don...

Today he went to the DR's!!! whooo hooo!!!

Well he went to the dr's in the end.  Not his GP but a locum.  Says the pain/non movement of foot is probably muscular but has ordered a bone scan anyway.  He also prescribed the painkillers my husband had a massive allergic reaction to in hospital!!!

Husband is grumpy and miserable, but I think it is just being in limbo that is doing it really.

His KC is a particulary rare type of RCC with sarcomatoid and rhabdoid features.  They are still debating whether the clot on the lung is a clot or a tumour...

  • The London Marthon 2010 - My diary
The Beginning - It a marthon not a sprint

Hi Every one, Welcome to my blog!

My name is Katie. I set up this blog as an on going story of my journey to the finish line of the London Marathon.

The story beginning in April this year, like most years me and my family went up to London to cheer on the thousands of runners in London doing the marathon, sat at the side of the road with a bottle of magners was little me thinking "wow these people are amazing running this distance, one day I'll do it." This, is what I had said every year for the...

The war was taking its course and a shortage of men around the place meant that women were doing many of the jobs that men traditionally did. Rationing had begun to bite and most of our gardens had been dug over in the “dig for Victory” drive, this was a way of producing more food by digging over every bit of land,

Lawns, flower beds and unkempt bits of ground were the target for the Ministry Man who would provide you with the original help. usually Italian prisoners of...

Nynpho? not the same as an Ology
Its difficult to find something amusing in my present situation but I have a chap who helps me out with the jobs I can no longer manage, he is the equivalent of the cowboy who can talk to the Apache,  unlike his peacekeeping Cavalry friend .
You know the thing I mean?, he walks up to White cloud or the warring Geronimo and in perfect Indian speak , a bit like French, he chats away until all parties get the message and Geronimo agrees to stop cutting up the Pony Express horses and eating em,   well...

    Ups and Downs

Well last night was a rip raoring success, managed to eat some lovely casserole and even managed half a fresh cream eclair, I also managed to stay awake past 8.30 so was very chuffed with myself.

Woke this morning not feeling too bad at all, drove to London popped a Kalm cos I could feel that sicky feeling coming back. Trying to keep myself busy and not think about feelin sick but it seems to be unwilling to let go at the moment and I,m sweating big time (just lucky I have some trial samples of...
