    A Hope Chest for Me

The coughing and hacking and gagging is not so nice.  The cold I have is slowly making its way about my body and I am waiting for it to make its way OUT!  Tootle-oo...bye bye bugs.

Well, honey bought me my three skeins of yarn to finish off my g/f's baby blanket.  The baby's room is blue and brown with a giraffe theme.  Nice.  Since I won't be attending the baby shower I'll have it finished and maled.  It is nice to receive things in the mail.  She and her hubby are the two nicest folks...

    Radiotherapy Planning Session Questions

When I had my first discussion about Radiotherapy I was told that at my hospital there are two schools of thought on the impact of different time cycles.  One Doc likes to use a shorter cycle whilst the other prefers a longer cycle.  I had gone in thinking that a longer cycle could be gentler on the body but was unsure of whether in fact it just means that it takes longer to do the same amount of good and damage.  When questioning the oncologist he told me that 2 large international studies had shown...

    how funny are kids....

My girls are so different its unreal, they are 15 and 16 going on 40 and now know what is going on. They both sat on my bed last night for a girlie chat. They both said that they knew something was going on all week because it felt strange (obviously didnt do too good a job of keeping everything normal).

The 16 yr old pipes us that she thought I was gonna tell her I was pregnant again (i have a 3 yr old son) and said that she now wishes that I was pregnant instead of having a lump and as quick as...

    day 19 Bertiebassetts Return Journey

Much better day today and he does not know anything about what happened yesterday although he remembers that I was there until very late.

The confusion is not nearly so bad today at least he knows who everyone is and where he is.

A CTscan has been arranged so check that there is no spread to his brain.

yellow stone steps and red draws 3

of nine to about twelve, every Tuesday and Saturday I had to Yellow Stone Grandma’s steps.

I don’t know where the idea of “yellow stoning” steps came from but I often wished it far enough away. However it was done it left your hands a nasty pale yellow.

The “Yellow Stone” was a brick made of a yellow stone material which was soluble in water and to yellow stone a step it had to be soaked in a bucket of cold water and rubbed against the house steps. Now if this wasn’t bad...

where did it all go 2
Well I got to know that silver cross pram quite well over the next two years sometimes I had to share Top to Toe with a later addition of mothers team but it was a tank of a pram built to last one hundred years; or fifty kids!, whichever the sooner. It once saved my life when the brakes disengaged at the top of Castlegate and it went charging down this one in five cobblestoned hill towards the seafront. It never negotiated the bend in the road at the bottom and shot into Mr. Evens shop at a speed...

where has it all gone 1
I suppose I had better write something of me so here goes

I was born very young; in fact it took me a year to get a number because until you have had twelve months you’re not even one. So I started with Nowt
Launch day was January 8 1936. at 12 noon exactly, I was launched by my aunty Jill who was married to a sheep farmer in the dales and used to come over whenever mother was “having her time”, Mother had “her time” over the next fifteen years, ten times, it was her ambition to have a...
