    Re: Mum

My wonderful Mum lost her battle with AML on November 14th at 1.20pm with all her family around her at home.

I am so sad but glad that she is now totally free of pain.

    I love you Mom xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    despair

I'm gonna waffle on for a bit

Am new to this, always been the tough one, after reading some of the posts I realised I should have done this sooner, I actually phoned the Samaritans during the night, I was so desperate to talk to someone and of course sob my heart out, I cant talk to friends or family, I have to be strong for them. I just feel so alone.

My Tom (69) has lung cancer, spread through chest wall, and "eaten" 3 ribs, its inoperable, the chemo was unsuccessfull, it nearly killed him...

    Here we go again

Its that time of the month again when dad is going for a check up with the consultant. I know that it is necessary as he is on a new drug trial but i hate it, every month i feel scared, hopeless, helpless, hope for a miracle, fear of hearing those fateful words.

Not helping is the fact that its coming up to Christmas, we got told the day before christmas last year that he had cancer and that surgery/chemo/radio were all out.  I really used to love christmas but this year would rather forget it completely...

    Up date

    Hi everyone,

I haven't blogged for a long time so much like everyone on this page has days when I guess we don't have time.  My husband is due to get his balloon kyphoplasty in a week and then in another week he is due to have another endoscopy to see if his duodenal ulcer has healed hopefully it has and then the dexamethasone can complete the mix.  He has not been allowed to have the cyclophosphamide recently as his white cells over the last two week have been below 2 but tomorrow we start...

Noone knows what's around the corner

A very good evening to everyone.

16 down - 4 to go and radiotherapy is over.  I have an appointment for brachytherapy next Tuesday and really not looking forward to that but then the treatment is complete - absolutely brilliant.   So far I think I've got off very lightly so long may it continue.

Today my husband has been given 6 months notice from his job in America so we are coming back for good.  I feel as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Although we have American health...

All Clear 11 months post op

It can be survived!  I had the big 7 hour op in December 2008, total pancreatectomy, pylorus, spleen, gallbladder, duodenum, lymph nodes and all that, followed by 35 days of RT (after a bit of recovery time) followed by 4 x 3 week cycles of chemo and this weekend, 11 months later,  was told my scans were clear !! Surgery in time is the key but it is possible to fight it off so hang on in there people and never give up!
