It can be survived! I had the big 7 hour op in December 2008, total pancreatectomy, pylorus, spleen, gallbladder, duodenum, lymph nodes and all that, followed by 35 days of RT (after a bit of recovery time) followed by 4 x 3 week cycles of chemo and this weekend, 11 months later, was told my scans were clear !! Surgery in time is the key but it is possible to fight it off so hang on in there people and never give up!
