... towards the end of June 2009.
As happens frequently at primary schools the dreaded lergy was doing the rounds. My two children seemed to have avoided it along with myself and my husband. That was until I got up on the Monday and felt a bit queasy. Needless to say I was a bit miffed to still be feeling a bit "off" by the end of the week, usually bouncing back from these things quite quickly ... and was quite unnerved to discover a tinge of yellow in my eyes the next Monday morning. By...
.... write a blog? After reading many of the amusing, inspiring and informative blogs here I wonder whether my ramblings are worthy of being published. Debating with myself for five minutes I think the answer is probably not! The bad fairy (that sits on the opposite shoulder to the good fairy) whispers in my ear goading me on .... so today I let the bad fairy have her way and hit the publish key!!
The Bad Fairy x
Have been out tonight with work, not a work do but work paid. It was to raise money for kids rugby, which is great and happy to support until they show the people behind this. So the kids who they are raising money for, those with with cancer! It would be something like that that tuggs on the herartstrings at the best of times.
I was in tears, but that was the fourth time today. And today was my last RT but so emotional about how strong other people are in times of adversity - they are the real...
It has been a month today since I lost my Danny. Somehow it seems harder now, I guess the numbness and shock have worn off. I miss him so much! I am going back to work on Dec 7, it is too hard to stay at home alone and try to make up reasons to go outside. I don't know if I will be up to working but at least will be among very caring and supportive coworkers. I am trying to get through the mounds of paperwork necessary right now, bit by bit, it is going very slowly. I have not got anywhere near...

In april this year my partner Bob was given the all clear from Lung Cancer and everything was "rosy" again. Now, he has lumps in his neck which came up in the last 5 weeks, he has had the CT scan and now the waiting begins.
We waited before when he first had the whole problem but now the waiting is more horrendous as we had the all clear once and now it seems we are waiting to hear if its all gone pear shaped once more....
We have had a chuckle tho amongst all this because before the...
My lovely Dad was in pain when having a wee, so he went to the GP and was referred for tests. He underwent a camera procedure on Aug 22nd and we were all expecting to hear he had some age related illness (he is just 75 but looks 50!). To our horror we were told he had a tumour which looked to be bladder/bowel connected. We were in shock. Dad had an MRI scan which told us it was a bladder cancer and there was no bowel connection. We were relieved there was only one organ involved. In Oct Dad had an op...
i am really, really not looking forward to today - my husbands funeral, How will I get through it?
After two weeks wait - I eventually got the long awated phone call from the nurse with my CT scan results - this showed NO CHANGE - and they will discuss it further at my next Oncology appointment on 14th December.
I really am not sure what NO CHANGE means in real terms.
I am relieved that she did call me and that I was not left in limbo until mid December. Watch this space!
Well i thought we were having a good week, then out of the blue John became devastated. He says its because i said its speech is becoming worse. Which i never even thought twice about, i guess im immune to the constant corrections and games of sharades. But im gutted.
I went out yesterday for and hour, when i returned hes so tearful, hes never been like this before, its like a different John. If anything i have wished for him at times to just cry, scream, etc but he hasnt. But all of a sudden hes...
