Today was a good day. Work was funny and productive, one of my Uni friends might be coming over from Tokyo to work in London and I got a fab wig that looks awesomely natural. Today I'm a happy bunny.
Got my scan tomorrow, and a nice lunch courtesy of a business contact and seeing Breakfast At Tiffany's in the evening. All round busy but nice hopefully. Gonna be knackered by 10pm! And I have to fit some birthday drinks on Saturday night followed by some indoor snowboarding on Sunday morning....
Well since last time l blogged l have started chemo last month. with Caelyx you have it once a month.
I didn't have the feeling sick as much with this chemo which was good. Just went tired as usual. My Mouth has been a bit sore this time. But l have not really started on the side effects yet. I am likely to have hand and foot syndrum, eg sore hands and feet. this is likely to happen after the next chemo which is on wednesday the 9th.
what l found hardest was that in the second week l got so...
Hi , my dad has finally (we think) been diagnosed with urachal cancer after being told it was bladder, then bowel and now back to a `bladder` type cancer. Has anyone experienced this cancer? We were first told he had a tumour in August and we are still having test/scans/mri's etc. My Dad is convinced there is nothing wrong with him on some days as he feels well and is in denial. Then he has a bad day and is `not going to make it`. I don't know how to help him. I have become obsessed with reading...
And my smiles came quicker than I thought they would. The wonderful, encouraging messages from you guys, after my surgery being put back to the 16th December, have lifted my spirits - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I said it was for a reason (I didn't know what reason, though) but I'd like to think that a possible reason was this: today I saved a life. The life of a little, scared bird. Picture the scene - I was sweeping my kitchen floor (I know how to live the high life!) and one...
It's been a long time since my last blog but life has been too horrendous to write about, not just for me but for anyone reading. So for all our sakes, I'm just going to write this quickly so that I don't have to think too much
My husband got to his 3rd Cycle of chemotherapy, had an MRI, and the chemo was stopped as it just wasn't working. More fear.
Then twice, 999 in the middle of the night with blockages and renal failure in left kidney. After two weeks of suffering in hospital...
Went to the hospital today to get results of dads CT scan. It wasn't good news, Dads cancer is terminal. He possibly has two years with radiotherapy. I am still shocked although it is secondary lymp node cancer I thought it would be treatable. I hope he gets some quality of life soon, since having his biopsy in October he's had an infection in the wound that won't go away even after a stay in hospital. The infection is really affecting his daily life as he mainly stays in bed. I want him to fight...
well today i started my chemo - arrived at the hopspital at 8.30am and didn't leave until after 6pm - it was a long day but everything seemed to go very well - i didn't sleep too well last night so i kept falling off to sleep which helped to pass the time away - during this last week my little one has been quiet and asking lots of questions regarding my chemo - when i went for my pre-assessment on monday i discussed with the nurse if it would be ok to bring her along with me for her to see...
Tuesday 1st December No fire because of boiler flooding the living room so 'had' to stay in bed late because it was the warmest place in the house. First phone call of the day was from sis-in-law telling us that nephew Sam and fellow crew were being held by Iran (for nearly a week already). Sh*t. Not the best start to a day but hopeful they won’t be used as pawns. Got up to a birthday breakfast of croissants and orange juice then off to hospital for IVE chemo CT scan results (do...
well how to begin this blog i could tell all and everything but i don't wish to bore anyone too much.....My name is Wendy just after my lovely holiday with my daughter and her family i went to the dr's with what had been a dull ache in my abdomen area , my dr gave me the routine check ups including an internal which i shot through the roof with.....Luckily i saw a great gp whom i owe an awful lot too and was sent for a scan about ten days later where i was then quickly refferd to the specialist oncologist...
