I was told my op was first on the list at 8.30am. I was all up and ready, signed the papers ,spoke to the Registrar etc. Suddenly the surgeon appears and tells me that he cannot proceed as a CT done on 15th December shows spread to my spine.
I am lost for words as an earlier bone scan showed me to be clear. Why should it take until 10 minutes before the opp to break the news.?? The whole thing stinks.
They have given me some whitewash about shrinking it with chemo. I am now wondering if I can...
I feel everything is building up in me and I am going to explode. I have gone from being a person who I thought was quite a chilled and relaxed person. Did not use to lose temper with people, but oh how I have changed, what is happening to me. Bob was taken back into hospital on the 12th Dec, in excruciating pain, and is still there. So not a great Christmas. Christmas eve so strange him not being here, I did not stop crying. Sat and stared at christmas tree most of the night , thinking why oh why...

The days are just merging with one another and I find no comfort in knowing the years to come are to be spent without him , how can anybody say time is a great healer when time is the thing that Bill did not get.We were not ready for him to go(is anybody) we thought it was beaten,we thought we were the lucky ones (how...

Has anyone had treatment for lung secondaries? I've had successful treatment (surgery) for bowel cancer and liver mets but the chemo seems to have been ineffective on the lung mets. Oncologist wants to wait 3 months to see what happens but I am already worrying about what happens next in the way of treatment as I am scared. Would appreciate any answers. Thanks
We took my dad into hospital for a biopsy 2 weeks ago as he had a lump under his arm, the following week he had a ct scan and xmas eve we got the news. The news couldn't be much worse. My dad has lung cancer and it has already spread. He has been told (i cant believe im writing this) without treatment he only has a matter of weeks and with treatment he may have up to 12 months IF it works. I dont know what to say/do, i am falling apart inside but outside trying to be strong for dad,mum and my bro...
had more bad news last week. The Liver surgeon thinks I am inoperable, leaving me with only one other potential option, if I am a viable candidate, which is SIRT. I have asked for a second opinion from Dr Rees in Basingstoke and have to have an MRI to see what he thinks. Seeing the oncology team at the Hammersmith who deal with SIRT on the 4th.
Haven't told mum yet. My cousins and some friends know. This is just getting so hard. Thinking I may not even see my 30th birthday is just so scary. Had...

Well the snow made everything look lovely but - like many other people - totally messed up our plans! We were snowed in til xmas eve. We’d had no post and, therefore, no presents delivered for a week. Radiotherapy delayed after lots of to-ing and fro-ing and pacing up and down when we got a message saying “Don’t worry! There’s a six week window from the end of your last chemo.” We’re already in week 7. Then we got another message saying “Don’t worry! A delay won’t affect your type of cancer”. The...
