How bad can this 'thing' get!

    Hi Everybody,

Long time again since last Blog and things don't get any better. Having had lots of problems with the Nephrostomy Tube fitted to my Husband's good kidney as he lost the use of the left side one during Chemo, we now face mets to the brain and 5 days of Radio in Liverpool. Also, he has involuntary movements in his arms and legs to the point where a cup of tea can get flung into the air and his legs just crumble underneath him. The Onc. doesn't have an answer for this, but then, they...

    New to all of this....

    Hello,

I'm pretty new to all this, was only diagnosed with thyroid cancer a week ago, so am still feeling a tad shocked about it, but then i go to the other extreme and feel like im a fraud and really shouldn't be getting upset about it. In the 24 hours that followed that fateful day, i found out my best friends grandmother has cancer and it is more than likely to be terminal and one of my work mates wife has terminal cancer. So i started feeling like i had no right to get upset or had any reason...

  • Diagnosis
    The Beast

My mum was diagnosed last November with a primary Brain Tumour, GBM IV, there is no cure. She had some radiotherapy treatment over Christmas with little effect. At some point of this journey we had hoped she could carve a little bit of life out for herself before slipping away, you see she spent nearly 12 years caring for my Dad who has Alzeheimers, she put everything into making sure he was okay. Even when she felt something wasnt right with herself, she made sure she found a good nursing home for...

    So tired

its just a gorgeous day out. just got back from a short walk to get a sandwich. I work near waterloo, london and its so busy with people rushing around, enjoying the weather today.

But i just feel so exhausted today. havent slept properly for the past few days following a recent breakup with my boyfriend. He broke up with me, but I dont know why. Something mumbled about, too hard for him, tough times, not working out.... who knows.

My anger is just consuming all my energy and thoughts and therefore...

    Coping

I'm marginally less rant-y now.  I'm still furious with God, but not with anyone else.  I understand that my parents' way of coping with my mum's cancer (carrying on as normal) is working with them and is probably infinitely better than them falling apart.  I get that, I really do.  I'm still worried about the fact that they're not talking to me or my brother though - it makes me concerned my mum's trying to hide it from us when she's not coping so well.  Again, when I...

2nd FEC - feeling fed up

Just had second FEC. Wasn't too bad last time.  This time spent next day in bed.  Was up yesterday and went for very short walk.  Went for walk this morning but feel fed up, feel like I might be developing bladder infection and have pain in arm where lymph nodes removed.  Wore cold cap both times but head is going quite bald on top of head. Been advised not to wash hair or brush it.  How does that work? My hair looks awful.  Any advice.  I have a wig.  Should I just get it all shaved off, cut very short...
