    Sally is HOME!

Sal has a bit of bad news first thing... her Hickman line cannot be fitted until Friday. However, the doc said that providing Sal's potassium levels were OK she could go home and return on Friday as an outpatient. YIPPEE!

Sal had blood taken this morning again Aaaarrrgh! Not again! She was dreading it. However, the doctor that came to take her blood had a cunning plan. She rubbed an anaesthetic cream on her arm and went away for an hour. When she returned she got the blood without any discomfort...

    Annoyed!!

I went for my CT scan this morning which was fine and I managed to drink the gastro in half an hour as no one was looking...that stuff is awful!!  My dad came and sat with me as he is still in and we had a nice chat about how hes feeling and it seemed to help him.  After the scan we went for a coffee as I was gasping due to the fact I couldnt eat or drink anything before the scan and I am a total coffee addict!! I also had a cheese scone with butter which was yummy.  I had a missed call on my mobile...

    Going into hospital.

I'm going into hospital tomorrow, to receive my first casium implant radiotherapy.  I'm getting anxious about what it's going to be like.  I've been talked through it by the Nurse, but still keep thinking.  Can I lie still for that long 17 hours? Will it be sore?  How sore?  What side effects will I have?  These are questions I know nobody has the answer to, and I need to calm myself down and take it all as it comes.  Easier said than done though!

    People suprise me ..

Just a thought i was having that i thought i'd pop on here....

People are continuly suprising me with just how nice they can be.

When i found out dad had cancer and that he was given 5-10 years I felt (and still feel) so useless. I was thinking there must be something i can do, so as the only way my dad is going to get better is if they find a better treatement for Bone Metatslis (sorry spelling is bad, i know) so my thoughts were i have to try and raise some money. The more money Cancer...

Wants to eat more but doesn't fancy anything on offer

We have both had a good day today.

I managed to clean half the house. Then I went to the hospital and Sal and I watched the snooker together all afternoon. The first time we have done anything together since she went in.

The even better news is that she is now no longer being barrier nursed. So no more gloves and plastic pinny. Notonly that but they took a blood sample this afternoon. Sal was dreading it. The nurse was just super... no pain at all and got it first time. Hopefully that will be...

    10 months

I am so sad today. 10 months on today. How can I have lived thro the last 10 months? It all seems so unreal. What is happening? I miss you so much. Almost everything that I have heard or seen today, has reminded me of you. It is hurting so much today. i will be glad to get back to work tomorrow and fill my mind with rubbish so that I wont have to think so much,,,,,,I love you, honey. Our  future has been taken away from us. What am I going to do?

Will see you again one day. Lots of love always  .....

Vocal chord cancerous tumour removed in USA in two hours.

I was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour on my larynx last june (2009). I was booked in to have 20 sessions of radiotherapy in Cheltenham.

I searched the net for vocal chord cancer and found a Dr Zeitels in Boston, Mass, who used a KTP potassium laser to remove tumours from this area.

I went to Boston, was examined, the next day operated on. Two hour operation removed the tumour. No after pain, slight soreness for around a week.

Voice OK. His clinic only deals with voice problems.

    The only drawback...
