    missing you.....xxxxxxx

    6/5/2010

Dad lost his short battle with cancer last saturday, 01/05/2010.

He was at home, my sister, daughter a district nurse and myself were with him......

We knew he was getting weaker each day....It was only 23/4/10 the previous friday we went to the hospital and they gave him a blood transfusion. He was quite tired and a bit sleepy ut he was ok, able to walk short distances and get up his stairs.....

The following monday  26/04/2010 we went back to hospital, we were waiting for the results...

  • My story so far...
    Who needs tonsils anyway?

Friday morning and off to hospital I go, content in the thought that my GP surely can't be correct in her absurdly quick diagnosis of possible cancer.

Enter an ear, nose and throat consultant. A fair bit of poking and prodding later I am advised that my nasty tonsil will have to bite the dust. Oh well, whilst I was rather attached to it, I don't suppose that I will miss it.

I have heard of these NHS waiting lists, I wonder how long this will be? Monday.

    Monday? That's awfully prompt and...

  • My story so far...
    The journey begins...

So there I am, Christmas 2009 and all my family have sore throats. This appears to be fairly normal as my eldest daughter started school last year and it would appear to be a petri dish for diseases where they meet new children who in turn pass them to their siblings and parents.

Well, I appeared to be a perfectly healthy guy but after everyone else had shaken their visiting bugs I was left with a nagging if very mild sore throat that just didn't seem to want to go away.

    I can't recall the last...

    A grand day out ......

….with sleeping bag and camping stove!

Well that’s what was intended for yesterday and that’s what I was going to write about but it didn’t quite go as planned, no surprises there then! It wasn’t really a camping trip or anything half as exciting or even exotic, it was a day trip to the hospital. A weird day thanks to the bank holiday messing up the usual schedule.

A normal week would see me either rushing to Gloucester on a Monday morning (about an hours drive...

There's a Vibe in the soup ... and there is more that a pinch of hubris

There’s a vibe in the soup … and there is more than a pinch of hubris
Did I really start the last post saying we have had no recent medical dramas and we were trying out living life as ‘normal’?
    Well, that will teach us.
    Here is the update:
Our Hero, typically, is determined that he will continue to work.  He has a mural to paint for some valued clients and there are still those bills to be paid.  Despite my reservations, he insists on driving himself for the...
