    the school run with wig

My hair has not gone yet, although there is a crawling sensation across the scalp which I suspect does not bode well.In any case I thought I'd test out the wig(long, reddish brown) on the school run.Of course I'm really bad with hair real or false so I just kind of plonked it on with a baseball cap on top. Most mums were really kind about it(the ones that knew). The ones that didn't know, and also the kids, clearly thought I'd gone mad(My normal hair is a mousy bob).In any case I'm glad that's done...

    Check up

    Hi

Went for a check up yesterday after finishing all my treatment, after examination consultant has now sent me for another ultrasound and mammogram.

Has anyone else had to do this.  Cant think that the cancer would have come back so soon.

Port a cath didn't work again!!

    Hi everybody,

I had my chemo no. 5 today and it is the 3rd time I have used the port. It is still very painful to use (even the nurse cried today because she saw how much it hurt) and as usual it would not give them any blood. They said I should have a lineogram (x ray) to check why it doesn't. I am allergic to the contrast they use for ct scans so they said I can't have the x ray as they use the same stuff. Now the nurse is saying that she can't use the port without checking it with an x ray. So...

    Not so paranoid now

Just before Easter, I found a lump in my breast. The Gp was convinced that it was nothing, even accused me of being paranoid.I hopped and skipped to the consultant and the mammogram, still sure that it would be just wasting time and even elated that the mammogram didn't hurt like everyone said! Then the consultant entered the room and he might as well have been carrying a placard 'That's it,it's curtains for you'.They left me with a cup of tea(always helps obviously) and a bizarrely busty nurse(just...

How do i say those words????????????

I think my Dad wants our blessing to not continue his treatment anymore.

He got very upset with mom last night and said he doesn't want to do this anymore

But he will continue with it because he believes it is what myself and my siblings want.......which yes the selfish part of me wants me to carry on trying to fight these horrible things although all indications from his visible tumours and  his tumour markers and previous scans have proved that the chemo is not working.

    So basically i believe...
