tomorrow i take my mum for a blood transfusion

Spent a kinda relaxed weekend with mum, having had an horrendous week where she was bitter and angry and wouldnt talk, yesterday i sat next to her, put my arms around her, told her how much she means to us all, told her i cant imagine what she is thinking, but talked about her having the blood transfusion, promised her we wont make her stay any longer than needed, but also stressed she is very weak and the hospital may decide on a drip for her being dehydrated(sorry cant think what its called).

    Last epi!

    Hi all,

Had my last epirubicin the other day, feels good!  Going in much easier through the line.  Am getting used to my new little friend in my chest, it doesn't feel too uncomfortable, just being careful about knocking it.  The dressings have been changed and it's been flushed, easy peasy.  Well I'll have it for a year or more so will have plenty of time to get used to it.

Flushing the line is easy - takes a minute or so.  What takes longer is the waiting around - when I went in the other...

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH. Hmm, that feels a bit better.

Someone has upended the special storage boxes in my head. The ones that I file things away in until I’m ready to deal with them. I’ve gone back over the past few weeks and can’t recall doing any spectacular gymnastics or other twizzly stuff that might have inadvertently scattered their contents everywhere, so why have they all got muddled up?

    It’s very frustrating. The...

    It is so unfair!

    Hi

My dad has now decided that he is not going to have anymore treatment at all including blood, the doctor has told us that within a week to ten days he will propably be sleeping all of the time and then it will just be a matter of days - all I wanted was for him to see the World Cup - it is so unfair.

The next few weeks are going to be the toughest I know and Ihate getting upset in front of him because that makes him more stressed, he keeps telling me to live my life as normal but I am scaed...

DRESSINGS CLINIC 3RD JUNE (NO PHOTOS)

    hi

this is what the nurse had to say... well it was the macmillan nurse who is great at dressings... but she was able to give me a 7am appointment so i could go to work afterwards as she knows im getting grief at work

she said that the swab taken at the walk in centre last weekend  showed growth of staphylococcus aureus, streptococci and anaerobes and therefore i have been given a course of augmentin, a broader spectrum antibiotic as the walk in centre put me on flucloxocillin last week.

WALK IN CENTRE FOR DRESSING (GRAPHIC PICS)

Hi... Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather?

Today i went for re dressing at the walk in centre,... below are the photos
