    What a life!

Well this year has whizzed by.  Despite feeling quite yucky I have managed to keep my art demonstration schedule, spend two weeks holiday in Malta and lead a party of 12 artist friends on a painting trip to France (we won`t mention to rude ditty written by my friends to the tune of `Oh dear what can the matter be?`

Anyway ultrasound scan, followed by colonoscopy (he didn`t see my best side - honest!) and CT scans lead to a swift admission to hospital 5 weeks ago and a right hemi-whateveritiscalled...

    ''30 things for turning 30''

I will be turning 30, believe it or not lol, lots dont ;-) on Christmas day.  I say believe it or not because I do look young for my age...the youngest I have got is 17!!! Anyway I was going to have a mad bash to celebrate but seeing as its Christmas it has proved difficult to arrange.  So my friend and I came up with this fab idea of doing 30 things to celebrate turning 30 which I am going to do throughout 2011.  I know this is shallow when you look at the bigger picture which is my life but I am actually...

    My Kids are Amazing!!

Both kids back to school now, Grace into year 10 (starts her GCSE's) and James into the sixth form, I feel so old!!!!!

They never cease to amaze me, its been a tough year for all of us but they have, at such a young age, really so supportive and just wonderful!  James did really well in his exams in May even though having to hear me throwing up after chemo and trying to revise and making sure I was alright bless him.  I know I'm rambling but wanted to write these thoughts down.  Grace has been...

  • The day of Val's funeral
    It was Val’s birthday Saturday
Some reminders of our loved ones are almost inevitable, especially during the first period after a death. That's when we all face a lot of "firsts" — those first special days that'll pass without our very special loved one.
As the weeks and months go by, I’m sure that I will have to face other significant days or celebrations without my beloved Val and that will trigger my grief again. Some of these "firsts" and other special occasions that I sure will reawaken that grief...

    Tears from nowhere!

I don't know what's happening to me today, i feel sad, empty and kind of lost. I have taken myself up to my bedroom for 3 hours this afternoon because i could feel all these strange emotions bubbling to the surface (and to read 'breaking dawn')

I wish there was a way to control how i feel and when i feel it.

It is my brothers birthday on tuesday and he wants us to go for a meal. This will be the first of our birthday without dad here. If it was today i wouldn't be going... hopefully...

    3 month anniversary

today is our 3 month wedding anniversary and i have been a widow for 7 weeks now.

13 1/2 years, finally we got round to getting married and thinking about family to have our lives shattered so rapidly by cancer. A diagnosis that no one thought of. The Gp will freely admit when ordering the ultra sound that showed the terminal widespread disease, he thought he had a relatively minor liver problem. Mark was so brave i think no one realised just how much pain he was in. including me. I can not forgive...
