    Must get Mum better!!

Last Thursday my dear dad telephoned to say my mum had cancer (stomach)...

They had known for 3 whole massive lonely months! ... I was'nt sad that they did'nt tell me sooner, only sad that they felt they should'nt, cause they did'nt want to spoil my birthday!! (like i'd have cared about my birthday), and also that i'm busy with our four little ones (aged 2, 5, 7 and 9 years), and there never seemed to be a "good time"..... Nothings been the same since, and if someone had said I'd be using word...

    Anyone for Lemonade?

When life throws you lemons you make lemonade.... it's a crap saying but it's true.  We are all on our own journey through life, when life throws a spanner in the works, be that cancer,  a broken central heating system or a broken down car we just deal with it, I have had all three (and more) problems to deal with recently and still am dealing with them.

Friends have said they don't know how we manage to stay positive, they say they wouldn't be able to cope if put in to this situation,...

4 Months Dad since we said goodbye. x

I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence,I often speak your names.
All i have are memories, and your picture in a frame,
Your memory is my keepsake, with which I'll never part.
God has you in His keeping, I have you in my Heart.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while guys.......have been quite emotional.

Hope you are all ok. Lots of love to you all. x

    My Brother

Oh bless him- he has always been the one we humour, the one we pamper , the one we like to make smile.  He has had some of the of worst news you could get. GBM grade 4- can't operate- have some chemo- they said- we'll keep you well as long as possible- they said- how long is that? No answer...So he accepts it- he smiles- he can't talk now- the tumour has taken that away.  But in there somewhere is my brother, and I love him.

He may live 120 miles away- but we can sort that- with the help...

tomorrow step 2 finish line in sight

Tomorrow i will be going to meet my next set of nurses the ones that will be with me on the radiation step of my treatment i'm sure they will be as nice as the chemo nurses or the breast nurse who where with me at the start of the horrible trip . I have to say they all have been brilliant which does help.

I'm now quite nervous about the radiation side effects i was really lucky not to suffer to bad through the chemo and i just think with my good old scottish skin (blueish /white with freackles...

    My experience
The first thing that enters your mind when you heard that your dad has cancer is “Is he going to die”?
It’s the first natural response when you hear the word; also you always think this is the kind of thing that happens to other people not your dad.
I know that sounds like a daft thing to say but it’s what you think.
I t was very hard for me as I was the one that had to tell my dad, the reason that came about was that I phoned the hospital  to chase up his biopsy results...

    Hickman line

Well yesterday the 8th nov i had my hickman line fitted and i have to say it was as horrible as i had imagined :-(

I asked to be sedated as i was terrified of having a procedure done like this and still being aware of what was going on!! Just a shame the sedatives didnt work!!

I had 2 lots of sedatives at first and told them i felt no different what so ever, i ended up having 5 lots and still it made no difference which really upset me as i wasnt quite numb enough either.... they soon gave me...

    onco's phone call

Just wanted to point out that in my blog yesterday when I said my onco had phoned me to say the chemo had failed it was because I had asked him to. Some of you were a bit surprised that bad news was given this way but it meant that I only had to wait over the weekend to get results instead of a week when I have my appointment. I know no one know s who he is but I don't want anyone to think he is insensitive.

    Love Jen XX
