I am 24 years old and 3 months ago I lost my father. I have always been a daddy’s girl and was the closest person to him. People often described me as the apple of his eye.

I have been there an have all the tee shirts - the hormones, the menopause symptoms and the RT - here if you need any thoughts or advice ?
Only thing that springs to mind - from bitter experience - is ask about RT to the Nipples pre hormone injections !! - Wish I had known about it - they get a bit - well ok very - sensetive lol

Well its been a funny old day, got ready today for our 90 mile round trip for Tony's last chemo, just as we were leaving the phone rang..chemo cancelled till next week, bloods not recovered enough, ok says my husband, no problem, (the Y chromesone really working overtime here) he seemed to have forgottenthe fact that our daughter gets married next week!! I was firing questions at him to ask, he seemed hell bent on not letting me speak to them, did he ask any of the questions?.....No, I mean they...
Worried and fearful as to what the meeting with the Consultant would bring and after tossing and turning for what seemed an eternity,my wife eventually got up around 3am and spent the pre-dawn hours watching the hands of the clock as they relentlessy but so slowly made their repeating journey around the dial.
Tick by tick by tick.
Luckily I slept soundly and knew none of this until I made by way downstairs,refreshed and ready for the day's events, several hours later!

Tomorrow Alan is due to go into hospital for a Vertebropasty and also a CT guided biopsy .
Then he is to have 5 session's of RT in about 10.14 days possible .As its pretty certain the mass by his spine is HL once again .
He had chemo in 2009 then RT in March 2011 when it came back so we are off to fight it once again now.So no summer holiday as he been poorly for last 8 weeks with a bad back which ,fingers crossed after this op will improve and he can get out and about again .

I was given the biggest scare of my life last summer when I was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 29.
I woke up one morning in excruciating pain and collapsed on my bedroom floor I immediately rang my father and told him what was happening and he told me to ring for an ambulance. I was rushed to hospital and all the checks were done. Just had a fantastic phone call from a friend from work, the thought of going back to work has been playing on my mind and with the new term starting next week I am dreading walking through the doors. I know that everyone will be supportive and concerned, but it is this concern that worries me, I will find the sympathy and people's fear of saying the wring thing a struggle. I am still me all be it on my own, I still want to work, do things and be who I am yet I know people will be worried about upsetting...
Well we are nearly there, I am booked into hospital for a Vaginal hysterectomy on Friday 26th August.
Today Tuesday 23rd I have my pre appointment, its all becoming to real.
Telephone call received yesterday from the main man's secretary..
My standing and importance has obviously improved as usually I'm notified by post that my appointment 'at the clinic of' is at a date a couple of weeks in the future.

Appointment made so tomorrow is my 'This is your life' day!'
