So it's been a while since I last posted. If I am honest I think the idea of coming back to my blog seemed a little too scary. When I read my blog, I remember all the appalling feelings I had several months ago and it seems somewhat masochistic to put yourself through that. What's happened since November? Work is really busy but generally things are going well.

I'm trying to help fellow cancer people as best I can. I've supported the NHS Help with Health Costs #NHSHWHCHero campaign on their...

The loss of someone you love.

When somone passes away peacefully and at home. I had a visit the following day to see how I was coping.

After that day I have never recieved a call but I did recieve a sympathy card.

Has anyone had the same experience and if so would you like to share your views. I want to help those who are left behind dealing with the loss of your best friend. family. loved one.

I hope to set something up soon specially in the North East.

  • You've had a really bad afternoon haven't you?
Chemotherapy has started...I really have cancer..

My first chemo session went well apart from having to have a sedative before because my BP was high. I have mastered being able to inject myself for five days, the first one it took me a good half hour to muster the courage. The first four days I was ok and carried on normally (well what is normal now) On the fifth the fatigue set in and the next day I could not get out of bed. I have never felt so low. My mouth was disgusting all dry and wrinkled inside and the taste unbearable and no amount of...

    assumptions...

    "shows us your boobs"

    they shout for a laugh,

    a pub crawl,

    a street brawl,

    not funny by half...

    I'll lift off my hair

    and lift up my top,

    then you'll blush,

    your friends hush,

    'cause your joke's a flop...

I am very happy with being me, probably happier than most, but one thing that I still find hard is the get your tits out joke (and I have also been a party to other women who know I had a mastectomy joking that they flash their cleavage!).  I remember a long...

  • 3rd dance with germ cell cancer
    3rd or 4th dance

I a bit confused wether to rename this blog , the confusion being is there is a suspect image in my left lung which may be cancerours or scar tissue from the operation in October,

if by a miracle it is scar tissue and i only need one final operation to my right lung then all good then the name of the blog is correct and it is a third dance with germ cell cancer,

but if its new, which is really worring ,is it a 4th dance with germ cell cancer, i hope not as this could it going to keep coming back...

  • feel like my life is on hold!! :(
Kidney cancer and possible hip(bone cancer) advice desperately needed!

ok so back in 2012 my mum got diagnosed with kidney cancer and at that ver same time also got told she only actually had 1 kidney! Total shook to her! Her tumour was around 7-9cm and had stayed within the kidney! She had her only kidney removed and was put onto dialysis. They also found a very small lung nodule which they kept an eye on, just before Xmas she had a pet scan to check the lung nodule and to maybe get some kind of answer as to whether it was CANCER nodule. She went back last week for...

  • Isolated
    Misfit

In April I was given a second lung cancer diagnosis - so for some in the on-line community my situation is not helping their first diagnosis.

I cannot post in the after treatment community as the 13 years in remission is rather seen as a boast.

There is no where to post Ist lung cancer diagnosis used by my ex husband to end our marriage.

No-one appears to have had stereotactic radiotherapy to their lung

I have been living with lung cancer since I was 37 and am now 62 - I have the slow growing...

  • Dyad's second time around
    No more treatment

There – I’ve said it.  There’s not much more to say, really, but I’d like to put down a bit of detail here as much for my own clarification as for anyone else who’s reading this.  For one thing, every cancer case is so individual.  There’s no one else who would have exactly my pathology, so in a way you could say that whatever I write here isn’t hugely helpful to others.  However, it is for me, so here goes.

We were initially seen yesterday by a very nice nurse...

  • My cancer of the ureter
    My latest cancer

Around 2009/2010 at age 61 years I suffered from back pain when exercising on the floor lied on my back – during Pilates or doing sit ups – and had weird sensations and pain in my lower abdomen when swimming. I also had frequent worrying painful abdominal episodes which seemed to come out of the blue. I was given anti-spasmodic tablets which did nothing to help and was referred to hospital in 2010. It was thought after numerous tests that the pains were related to IBD (having suffered previously...
