    Ding Ding Round 2

So I have survived the Danish surgeon with the" its cancer", "its not breast cancer", "its a neuro-endocrine tumour so we just have to remove i"t, "no it is breast cancer after all so you have to have chemo and radiotherapy after all"!!!

;I've survived the ever so sympathetic chemo nurse who with her head attached to her left shoulder told me I might be laughing now but I won't be when my hair falls out in clumps and I NEED a wig and the cold cap would be...

    Good Reason For Carrying On

Well, after a long day our new baby Granddaughter decided to make her earlier than expected appearance into the world. Freya Lily was born yesterday evening weighing 7lbs 7ozs, both Mum and Baby are doing well.

Looks like I am going to be kept quite busy again, but I have a grin like the Cheshire Cat !

What a busy day, but good news

In my rush to pop in before my M25 trip I forgot to mention about the glass shelf !!

I wanted this lovely mirror for the bathroom that has lights above it with a socket for his electric razor and 3 thick glass shelves, it was very expensive (£450) but it was the final finishing touch to our newly refurbed bathroom.

All I did was take the hair brush off the shelf.....honest guv....I didnt even touch the bottom shelf....it just fell off!!!!! Being toughened glass it only chipped on the corner...

    Scans

Friday was my morning of being scanned.

I had to be at Addenbrookes for 8:30 so I could drink a pint or so of contrast medium slowly over the hour before my scan. Contrast medium tastes a bit like aniseed. I had mine with blackcurrant cordial so it wasn't taste too bad. The spending an hour sipping a drink passed a lot quicker than you'd think thanks to the wonders of the i-pod and the BBC Radio 4 "Comedy of the Week" podcast.

The scan itself wasn't too bad. The...

    Aromasin

I have been taking aromasin since June and the list of my problems just seems to get longer and longer and its only recently that I have thought to look at the side effects of my tablets.  I have had headaches for the last two weeks that I just can not shift, indigestion, bad moods and depression like nothing else.  My family just seem to have had enough of me.  I guess the bad moods have just put them off. I mean I am not blaming all my troubles on tablets as I have been battling cancer for 7 years...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    November 6th 2011

Arrived at the hospice about 10.45 and went in to speak to the nurses as I do every day just to get an update,Mo was a lot brighter this morning compared to the last couple of days, comfortable and relaxed the nurses told me. Mo had eaten some breakfast and the nurses had put the radio on for her,it was on some Christian music channel which Mo does like now and then, not really my cup of tea so I changed it.I doubt very much if it mattered what particular music was on at the time at least it breaks...

    November 4th 2011 (pt3)

After earlier's unpleasantries Ewa had left and I stayed with Mo for a little longer but I was still quite upset and Ewa probably was too even though I did apologise to Ewa about me over reacting. Unfortunately tensions had been spilt on more than one occasion since everything had happened with Mo,another down side of any Cancer diagnosis I expect.I left the hospice and went home, well next door actually,Sue & Brian have been feeding me as well as keeping an eye on me,their support has been amazing...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    November 4th 2011 (pt2)

As I mentioned earlier Ewa was at the Hospice which pissed me off straight away,I managed to keep my cool, momentarily, why u ask what happened. It was lunchtime and the staff were busy doing what they do serving lunches to the patients. I mentioned to Ewa that I would prefer it if the nurses fed Mo as she has got to know them and they tend to get a better response from her when feeding Mo. Being a professional they can also gauge how much Mo is willing to eat and when she doesn't want anymore or just...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    November 4th 2011

Went to visit Mo today with Sue and Lisa, her daughter and when we got there Ewa was there too,no phone call or text to let me know about her visiting had I known we would of visited later or earlier so we could all have some 'quality time' with her. The nurses had put some laxative-type medication in some juice of Mo's to help her open her bowels. The enema fiasco yesterday wasn't doing as good a job as they had hoped so a 'plan B' was put into operation, spiking her juice lol. Unfortunately Mo somehow...
