Good Morning All,
This sort of thing is new to me! My wife found this site during the week and has suggested I use it to enable me to get and hopefully provide support and advice from fellow TC sufferers. Unfortunately this is my second TC the first time was 13 years ago (unlucky number!!!) I was diagnosed for the second time last week after my testicle didn't feel right. It was quite hard and a little swollen but as I only have one testicle I didn't have anything to compare it against.
...Hello, you can tell I'm back on form because here I am steaming at the gills about some nutritional misinformation given to me yesterday by a well-meaning friend. We were chatting on the phone about my stay in hospital, and I mentioned that because hospital food is inedible but you are not allowed to bring in hot, cooked food, I compromise by taking in oatcakes, peanut butter, fruit, dark chocolate, green tea and other goodies, so I've always got something healthy to eat in my locker. Finally got to my appointment 5 minutes late and he whisked me straight in. First, the consent form: did I know why he was doing the research, did I know what was going to happen, had I had a chance to ask questions,...
Thank you to all you kind people who sent me messages of support while I was in hospital. Sorry I didn't reply but it was such a pain trying to type on my tiny phone and I really didn't have the energy anyway. I came out yesterday, still feeling as weak as a kitten, unable to breathe deeply and with a neutrophil level of 1.2 (normal is >2 and neutropenia is <1). However, I am a bit better today, thank goodness. They gave me a subcutaneous injection of G-CSF on my day of departure which...
