Week 6 of Chemo - HALF way there!

Today I've had my 6th out of 12 chemo sessions, I've officially reached the half way mark. Since the last session, I have been feeling very exhausted, over the weekend, I was literally dragging my body around. I didn't need to drive as my husband drove but just going to watch the girls ballet lessons and swimming lessons felt like I had walked miles yet I only got out the car and and a few steps to the leisure centre. On Sunday, I finally gave in. My youngest daughter was going to the local park...

    Cycle 3 not such fun!

Sorry I need to have a moan. Probably just feeling sorry for myself but staring to feel dreadful.

I started my 3rd cycle of chemo last Friday. I'm still getting peripheral neuropathy in both hand and now my feet.

I'm constantly tired and the nausea is almost constant. I'm taking the anti-nausea medication but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Now I may have a urine infection. Ho hum.

    That's it. Rant over.

So much to be positive about. I'm over half way through my planned chemo. When...

    Crash landing 2 (another one)!

It's Chemo Thursday again - 5 down, 7 to go.

Coming out of the tube station, I start going up the flight of steps leading to the outside. Half way up, I feel myself trip and as if in slow motion, I fall forwards and onto my knees but I managed to put my hand out which luckily stopped me from falling flat on my face! Not too bad, just grazed knees and hands. So I arrive at the clinic all shaken. Good news is that they accessed the port to take my bloods and they said it was working fine and...

    Having cancer, having fun

    Hi,

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted, but we've had some bad news.  After the results of Daniel's PeT scan after his round of treatment at Christmas, the doctors told him that they were no longer treating to cure his cancer, but to prolong his life.  They also said he could have as little as two years to live.

Daniel, being Daniel, hasn't let even this affect him.  He's still totally motivated, loving life and happy.  He's looking into alternative therapies and he said...

It's been a while but then not much has happened, well to us anyway....

I like you have been immersed in the huge political momentum that the country is currently gripped by.

Since my unchanged scan results recently my pain has not got better, in fact it may have got slightly worse.  But given they couldn't see anything obvious to explain it I am at a loss at what is causing it.  I just need to hope that it is the radiotherapy.

As you know I have been trying to complete my first year at university...

    Crash landing!

I can't remember the last time I went down a slide, maybe a few years ago at a soft play centre when the girls were much younger.

Last night I fell down the stairs, probably about about 8-9 steps! I tucked the girls in and then headed downstairs. On my way to the top of the stairs, I passed the landing and drew the blinds closed while passing. I think as I was pulling the cord, I took a step down, at the same time, missed a few steps as my foot slipped and landed half way sliding down to...
