so I have been awake since 2.15 my head is going round at 100mph . I don't want to be starting this journey as I just don't know how it will end .
Having only told my oldest child about the breast cancer yesterday as she was on holiday and came home yesterday .
The poo poo has hit the fan for me this morning I keep telling myself to be calm its all going to be ok but I am just worried they are going to find more then they expected once I am on the operating table .
This is the 4th surgery (lumpectomy, lymph nodes, portacath insertion) and this was the first one done under local anaesthetic and for me, the worst out of all of them I would say.
Hallucinations, water boarding and class a drugs
Almost a week since surgery and although there has been huge progress, the brutality of this disease has become abundantly clear ( despite this version being one of the better cancers to get. ( based on very limited research on my behalf relating to death likelihood… So basically fact! ). You simply can’t get through it without equally brutal treatment. As a close friend has since put though, “it would have been embarrassing if it...
Right......mum has been feeling crap, putting it bluntly, for a week or so now whilst on course of antibiotics and antivirals. Hopefully those side effects will ease off now. However, latest Haematology appointment wasn't great either. Haemoglobin levels have decreased, which was expected, but also platelets have taken a nose dive since last appointment (17/8/16) which up until now have remained stable. Chemo is now not considered a viable option either. Next blood transfusion booked for Wednesday...
I had my CT scan today before commencing radiotherapy next week.
The calls are becoming more frequent. It's each day as it comes.
For months it's been a battle of quality time vs maintaining normality. No regrets vs no worries.
I had to believe I would know when the balance shifted.
"The doctor says it could be weeks," mum told me. The words I'd been dreading since my step dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma in April. Call it common sense or call it blind panic, "I'm coming home," I told her. The balance has shifted, life doesn't have a rewind....

I'm thinking just tell me!!!!!!

Dealing with other people’s reactions was for me one of the hardest things with the breast cancer diagnosis. Being self-employed, I did not have to tell colleagues, and was fortunate to have more control over who knew when. My husband and I took the opportunity of a 10hour train journey the day after the diagnosis to begin to think about how we would manage the local gossips (amongst other things). The diagnosis was a shock. We needed time to get used to the news ourselves and if there was...
