Hi all am new to this. My sister went into have a hystertomy and the cyst that was removed was 5lbs in weight.
We had a call from consultant telling is that he needed to see us re biopsy. We were told that she had ovarian cancer but that had been taken out with cyst. He then informed us that she had cervical cancer type 1b1. That was last week this week she had a phone call to attend beatson in Glasgow. We know that she has to have chemo and radio. Can anyone advise what we should be asking oncologist...
Hi to you all,
It's a rainy Monday morning, the boys are playing in their new matching batman onesies I bought them, we have politics on the television and me and Mr H are sitting on the sofa together listening to the politicians whilst occasionally referring the boys play.
Over the past month I seem to have been in and out of hospital like a yo-yo. The infection I kept getting in my kidneys finally made it's presence really known. I got sepsis. Not nice. Getting Rigors is not much fun, your...
Good news from consultant as the pets scan shows only one lymphoma in me! Albeit still the 11cm mass - looks like I'm pregnant in the scan - such a large mass
He went through how such a lymphoma is categorised given biopsy my age Health etc and came in at under 2 which is positive - he still has some concerns it's a double hit lymphoma which is a nastier version
We discussed first chemo session this Tuesday and the possible side effects
Wife with me was great in asking all the questions...
When it comes to the title of these posts, that's where I like to be creative. It's the one piece of a post that's made up, and I like to be a bit creative with them - like the title of the whole blog - but today, there is no creativity for a title. Today, there's just a load of emotions that keep on escaping out of my eyes. I think it's mostly exhaustion that's going on, but there's a load of bad news being piled on top of each other right now that's also taking its toll too....
1st June 2017
The day I was told I have cancer. Yesterday I went for routine laparotomy at Salford Royal hospital in Manchester to remove multiple fibroids, that surgery went really well and the surgeon managed to remove all 12 of my fibroids and reduce my womb from the size of a watermelon back to a pear, a miracle in it's self!
Whilst in recovery I came across all strange and started losing control of my left side, I managed to get the attention of one of the nurses who helped me through...
Earlier this year, through a community choir mailing list I'm on, I received an invitation to take part in something quite special.
As part of the WWI commemorations a performance called "Refrain" has been composed for local male singers. It's already been performed at Richmond Castle and on Merseyside, and there is one more location at which I am taking part: Newhaven Fort in East Sussex, on 9-11 June.
It will be a very special experience to hear male voices in the echoy tunnels...
The 23rd May 2017. Back to the Hospital. This time it is in the Consultant's Breast Cancer Clinic. Apparently, last weeks' appointment was The Non Stop Shop Clinic; but this is just The Breast Cancer Clinic. The waiting room is packed. Surely, all of these people can't have breast cancer?!? Turns out there is a Urology Clinic being run at the same time, so now half of us have Breast Cancer, the other half have dodgy bladders!
There is a bit of wait before we go into to see Mr Consultant...
On the 10th May this year (2017), I started on a journey. It's not really a journey that I intended to take, however, fate has set me on this journey; and I have absolutely no choice other than to follow it.
About seven to eight weeks before the 10th May, I had a sore tit! A sore right tit! Sore enough that I didn't want to take my bra off in the evening. Now, as most women know, there is nothing nicer than getting home in the evening and taking your bra off, slipping into nice comfy clothes...
Arrived at hospital for 09.10 scan - to be told that glucose isotope for the injection had failed a test: who knew! Apparently the isotope is made up in Guildford and then travels to my Bath destination
Luckily the second delivery of isotope late morning was ok to use. Me very hungry having had nothing since 6pm previous evening
Had the isotope injected around 11 o'clock and then waited for it to infiltrate - one hour to catch on reading - A Passage to India - somehow apt!
Painless...
Just found out on Thursday afternoon...25th May 2017
Received a phonecall on Tuesday asking me to come back for a review. I was a bit confused because after having a biopsy the consultant I saw then discharged me, presuming I had dysfunctional bleeding.
I had a feeling it was going to be bad news but WOW...what a blow. Me being me, I accepted what I had been told and left....shellshocked of course. Leaflets in hand.
Now, I am waiting for 'it' to be graded. Thats happening tomorrow - Tuesday (bank...
