NO CHEMO IT'S STRAIGHT TO THE OPERATION

Less than one minute read time.

Saw my consultants today. No chemo straight for the op. My pre-op is on Monday, 28th, just under a week. I'm nervous but my surgeon just happens to be a leader in this field so I'm glad to have him. I'm having the cystectomy with stoma and bag.

  • Hi Caz

I wish you every success with the op. I had the very same in January done robotically by a leading surgeon. As you are going for it I hope you've had the chance to play with a few pouches and adaptor rings. The stoma nurses are good but it took me a couple of months to find the right type of pouch that suits me best.

I hope you have support at home when you are discharged as it feels like you drop off a cliff following the care in hospital. Recovery takes several months and can be frustrating at times but you will get there.

This disease messes with your head as well as your bladder so be prepared for that too. Watch out for the hospital physio-terrorists, the blighters will want you out of bed the next day!

    Good luck!

I've heard about their fascist ways. Lol. I have my partner, Dean, to look after me when I get home and he will probably take over the terrorising aspect too. xx
