So it's been almost a month since I last posted! In that time I've seen my consultant, and had the Mirena IUD fitted.
I saw her last week (15/08) and was able to ask all my questions and had them answered.
I have Complex Hyperplasia without Atypia. There's only a 5% chance of it turning cancerous, and fingers crossed is reversible with the Mirena IUD. So I had that fitted last week. I have to say I found it very painful and screamed out with tears streaming down my face!! It was over very quickly which was good.
So now the next step is to have a uterine biopsy in about 6 months (Feb 2018) and if the results are negative, then leave the Mirena for another 6 months before doing another biopsy. If I get two negative biopsy's then the Mirena can come out and I can start trying for a family. If the results come back positive or abnormal still, then an MDT team will get together and discuss what to do next.
I've opted for the biopy to be done under GA again (phew!!). So now I've just got to wait and hope the Mirena does her job properly!
Stay tuned...
