  • Feeling OK
ready for round 2 of fec

I had my blood test today ready for my second fec cycle on Monday.  I feel fine although my hair has started falling out.  Hopefully no problem with blood, not sure if they would let me know before travelling to the hospital.  I am not as scared now I know what to expect at the clinic, not pleasant but got to go through it.  Have been told that I will be prescribed Anastrozole at the end of my treatment and will be on it for years.

Today has been different. Spent it in a&e. Pain in ribs is caused by blood clots apparently. Injections for the next 5 days. At least it gets me out of doing the ironing.

Just received  a call from the infusion center reference my scheduled chemo treatment days and the regiment (GC) program they well start me off with, this coming Wed morning. I already have a scheduled appointment to have a (PET) scan on Monday to see if its has spread anywhere else besides the inter bladder wall. • The Singing Biker
A biker with cancer is still a biker

Today is a sort of special.

It's 12 months since I got my motorcycle.

I've mentioned the bike in previous posts but, for me, there's one thing special about having it. It has given me a longer-term view of my remaining time on this planet.

I generally have trouble imagining myself more than a few months down the road. This isn't just because of the terminal cancer (I was given 1 to 10 years in 2015). It's also because of depression which pre-dates the cancer. I have recurring thoughts...

    220218 - Round 3 of post-op chemo

I've just completed the third of four post-op chemo sessions and feeling not too bad.

After my last session I was still suffering slightly with neuropathy in my fingers. The oncologist decided that he would would remove the Oxaliplatin and only give me the other three drugs (Docetaxel, Leucovarin and 5-FU).  I am a bit concerned that by removing that drug it makes the treatment less effective. I couldn't really get him to answer that.  He said that many people cannot tolerate chemo after surgery...

  • My Journey at 23
Chapter 11; Battling the anxiety beast

So it’s only been a week since my hysteroscopy, so a week since my biopsy’s were taken. That means it will probably be another 2 weeks until I have the results. But then after the results it will go to the MDT so it’s likely to be weeks before I actually know a treatment plan.

For someone with chronic depression and anxiety, this waiting period is hell.

I can’t sleep at night, and when I do I have horrible dreams and wake up throughout the night. It’s really horrible. I hate not knowing....

    Waiting for results

Hi, I’m 48 and Recently diagnosed a couple of days ago with vulva cancer and waiting for an mri to determine what stage I am at, feeling kind of numb with it all and can’t believe I have cancer! Although the pain does remind me at times!

It started with what the doctors thought was a small cyst which grew and became very sore after another appointment with the gynae dept and a biopsy the following day, I have been told it is vulva cancer. Spoke to a wonderful nurse who explained what the...
