Almost 9 months post surgery. Where has the time gone?
Just completed my second follow-up with the oncologist. He did an ultrasound on my abdomen and all appears to be fine. He did say that he wanted me to have a PET scan in October. Naturally the fear kicks in, so I asked if that was a normal part of the process. He explained that the ultrasound only covers the abdomen. The CT scan I had in June covers from the thorax to the pelvis whereas the PET scan covers the whole body from head to toe. I guess if it was not routine he would have said it needed to be done asap. The scan is scheduled for 25th September. Also had blood tests. I didn't get a copy of the results so I'm trusting they are fine. Got the first B12 injection. A friend told me that she'd heard from a friend that the injection is painful but it was not at all.
So onwards and upwards. I'm off to Lanzarote on Thursday for a week's break with my sister. Looking forward to sun and sunshine not to mention a few wee cocktails.
