I received the promised phone call from my specialist at the UCH in London on Wed afternoon. Following their medical meeting, it has been decided that my tumour is too big to operate on at the mo, so i am to start chemotherapy (doxorubicin) on Friday 25th, next week. Wow, now that news has really put me in a different frame of mind. So many questions to ask, i keep logging in here to find my answers, which to a great extent i have found. I really thought i would have had surgery, then some further...
At the start of this week we announced to mum and dad about getting married in november, the day after my brother and his wife announced a baby due on january 8th and dad had his 2nd last chemo today .
They brought him up on wednesday for his bloods and again up today for the chemo but this time he had it during the day and got out for home at around 4.30pm.
I think he prefers to be at home at night , he really couldn't wait to be away from the hospital today.
They also reduced his chemo by...

Sal and I went to the hospital this morning for her normal review of progress so I thought I would bring you all up to date.
This cycle has gone pretty much to plan. Symptoms this time include slight nose bleeds, breathlessness, nausea, bad tastes, fatigue, trouble sleeping. Nothing too disabling or troublesome but they decided that Sal should have a chest x-ray today just to check.
Sal had a head CT scan last week and that has come out clear.
So, just 3 cycles more and it is all starting to become...
Well thats it now all over, im now on my own.
My adoring mum left this world on monday evening and i let her go this morning at her funeral. Now everything is so final. In the last 6 months i have lost my darling daughter and my wonderful mum.
Im left now all on my own with noone to go and have a cry with when im feeling down, noone to run to when i need a hug, noone to tell me everythings going to be alright.

At last - the relief of knowing that I have beaten the devil again for the time being. My last treatment on Monday then freedom to enjoy my retirement for a while (hopefully a long while!). My GP was so pleased yesterday when I saw her, and the new oncologist I saw today really enjoyed telling us the very very good news- the ca 125 is down to 19 and the scan was clear, (and that was after 4 treatments) Here's hoping it stays away so we can do the travelling we want and see all our friends round the...
