My brain is about to explode. i have to many things to think about at the moment and its all getting on top of me. i moved house 3/7/10, that was extremely hard work. trying to get things sorted out so i can find everything again is a nightmare.

What does not help is i dont feel well and cant take any more time off work. so going into work not feeling 100% is hard enough but i work in a hospital so its enen harder to look after someone else.

  • My Dad has Mesothelioma :(
    Diagnosis
    6th July 2010 -

My Dad is in his early sixties, and has been suffering with shortness of breath for some time, and was diagnosed with COPD two years ago.  Recently he has had a pain in his side, and went to the doctors for investigations.  After two CT scans and a biopsy, he was given the devastating news that he has mesothelioma, which I gather is from coming into contact with asbestos (my Dad used to work for the Gas Board, and has been a plumber and gas fitter for years).  He was told that there...

    Fed up about chemo failure

    Hi everybody,

My 2nd line chemo has failed to work and my lung mets have grown. I feel like I've wasted 3 months on this horrible chemo with a painful port. I also feel I wasted the 3 months before that doing "wait and see". The previous chemo didn't shrink anything either so "wait and see" was to discover if the lung mets really are cancer although I had been told they were. I can go on to a new chemo,  probably Folfox. but I'm beginning to wonder if any chemo is going...

    1 year on

One year ago today I was in intensive care after my bowel bursting and the surgeons taking away half my bowel due to a very large tumour.

I have come along way since then. Like everyone else on here I have been to hell and back again. An experience I never want to have again. God willing I might never have to.

I feel absolutely marvellous better than I have done for years. No more IBS, no more pain, no more tiredness.

I hope for everyone to have this feeling someday.

My love to everyone and anyone...

    In it to win it.

    Well what a start ,

Just three weeks ago I had a sore throat , which I thought was brought on by my new high setting on my CPAP machine.  I was supposed to dianosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and until then that is exactly what I thought it was.  I was loseing weight well, bike rideing into work, eating well, and feeling quite impressed about it to.  Then after being told by the Chest nurse that I was set at a very high setting (18) I got my sore throat and after a couple of uncomfortable day's...

    thanks for all your help

Well i've at last finished all the chemo and radio therapy, i feel like i've been run over by a steam roller - very achy and very tired.... but very relieved to have got this far. now i have to wait for scans, tests etc to see if has all worked. i'm scared but optimistic. After the surgery i had pretty much built my strength back up but now i feel knackered again. oh well onwards and upwards. if i can take my bike out for a short run next week (the first time in a year) i will be a very happy person...

  • help: information please,womb cancer
    even more confused:

hi, dont know if anyone can help or give advice.  In a nutshell mum diagnosed with womb cancer (from a routine smear test) last week,  hospital appointment this thursday,(from a phone call)  had no letter from hosiptal as what to expect where to go etc, co i called them today, was told mum was to go for a Colposcopy.  Spoke to a lovely nurse advisor from cancer research who said thats more to do with cerival cancer and its very rare to say that a woman has womb cancer just from a smear test.  this is all...

    DAD

Well after admitting Dad back to hospital he seems to be doing OK, having a scan today as they dont really know if hes been ill due to radiotherapy, or if its something else !

Hes still got a sense of humour tho, wearing the sick bowl as a trilby.

    Onwards and upwards !
