Not commented much lately feel a bit weird really now the active part of my treatment has been completed (finished my RT 10th Sept) that I find myself just reading and not commenting on blogs.  My life has been changed forever by cancer and I'm not angry about that a lot of positive things have happened.  I love my job (I work part-part time, (slacker) at a local primary school with 9 year...

trying to get back to work!

I haven't blogged in a while, talking on chat and to the penguin mainly, but I am feeling the need to have a really good rant! So here I go.

It will be 5 months on friday since I lost my husband to this horrible disease, since it crept up on us so no one expected it and by the time it was found he had no chance to fight.

I went to see the GP last week as I needed to extend my sick note into the new year, when there were tentative plans for me to return to work. I beleive that I have now got...

    the good bad news...

    Hi all,

Well, now we know the worst.  My cancer is back again, but thankfully still not spread anywhere else.  The doctor at last showed an interest and agreed that I needed some more treatment, but it was up to me when.  Considering my breathing is very difficult when I move around I felt sooner rather than later was a good idea, and when he said it would probably be after Christmas anyway, by the time they could get me fitted in I was glad I told them to get on with it!  He also feels that I have fluid...

    Liquorice & Blackcurrant or Lemon?

CT scan today and I am pondering should I stick with my usual choice of liquorice and blackcurrant drink or be daring and try the lemon?

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

    A lovely end to 2011

After all the ups, downs, whirlwinds and spaceouts i've been through i got a good result and it was all worth it.

My cancer was graded 1b1 with lymph node involvement. I also had anaemia which is cured but had and still have high blood pressure. Chemo treatment had to be ok'd only if my bp was steady.

I could not have a general anaesthetic for my brachtherapy treatment, i was awake through the operation to insert the rods for my internal radiotherapy.

I have been put through the menopause...

    Only days left

My heart is so heavy. Dad has slept since friday and the nurses said they will let us know the signs. Ive been with dad every step of the way since his cancer journey started in March. Im going to feel so lost when he goes. Its my little boys birthday on Friday and I pray to god it doesnt happen then. My little boy said he would be very sad if it happened then. One of my friends who is spiritual said she can see people who have passed in his room. Dont know enough about it but you have to believe...
