It has been pretty much 12 months since I got my diagnosis and when I was told that I had Thyroid Cancer I never imagined to be where I am today. All I could think of is that I have cancer. A reality check provided by Lass and I guess an emergency realisation that generally speaking I am a positive person, soon got me out of “being scared mode”. A second hemi and neck dissection and RAI followed and I started being monitored at 3 month intervals in February this year. I just had my second follow up, this time with an Ultrasound and I have just been told that all is good and that I am now going to be monitored at 6 month intervals. On top of this, pending my latest blood results, my levothyroxine dose will be reduced so goodbye to over suppression and hello to a not so sweaty summer
