Pea size lump! Anyone had a similar experience?

Hi All

A bit of advice needed! Had my left thyroid out due to cancer with no lymph node involvement, right hand side taken out as a percaution but also found cancer in that side. Had RIA in July but have now got a pea size lump in the side on my neck and wondered if anyone has had a similar situation?

I'm not one to call the doctors  as hate asking so just wanted a bit of advice!

Thanks in advance

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

    You say that

but the best person to give you advice would be your doctor. Even if someone here said that they had a pea sized lump and it was nothing to worry about it doesn't mean that yours is also nothing to worry about and vice versa. Please do make an appointment either with your treatment team or your GP.

  • It's definitely worth contacting your team, maybe a specialist nurse if you have one or even your GP. It would be better to have an assessment with them to see if you should be worried or not. I've had ultrasound scans on ongoing lymph nodes and bloods after a right sided thyroid cancer, with no RAI and been reassured, I felt reassured getting it checked out (I already had planned follow up so I brought it up then).

  • Hi I was told if I feel a pea size lump that last for more than 2 weeks to contact gp or ENT. To arrange ultrasound scan.
