Good afternoon,

I had a biopsy which came back benign, but had to have another one 3 months later which is a THY3F, the consultant has advised to have half my thyroid removed. This week my lymph nodes have become swollen and I have having pain at the back of my ear. I attended A&E today who have said it could be 2 things. I could have infected lymph nodes so he has given me antibiotics, if this hasn’t improved in a couple of days, I need to get back in touch with ent and tell them things have changed. It could be my nodule has grown etc. any advice would be great.

  • Hi

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I know how worrying it is when you notice something wrong so I'm hoping that the antibiotics have done the trick.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Thank you for the reply, unfortunately the antibiotics haven’t made any difference.

  • Sorry to hear that  Disappointed

Have you been in touch with your consultant or cancer nurse specialist (CNS) and what did they say?
