Tis the night before Opening, and all through the house.............
Hi Folks, It’s me again! Well no, that’s not quite right, is it? It’s always been me – never been anyone else. So, I suppose, it cannot be me again, can it? At the third stroke, the time from BT will be………….. So – here I am, sitting in front of this wretched machine – we’ve all got one and love or hate them to a greater or lesser extent – but still we use them and still we moan about them. Especially the updates – Oh dear me, especially the updates. Have you tried to install the latest one from...

    Long time for bad news
Hi everybody, I have been following all of your posts while awaiting the outcome of my husband's biopsy. Today, after waiting over 5 weeks, we finally heard the worst. After the first diagnosis in Spain in March when the Cancer was in the bladder only, today we were told that it had spread through the muscle to prostate and lymph nodes. We now have to wait a further 2 weeks to find what the Medical Team in Liverpool, our nearest Cancer Hospital, can do. Our local consultant said that there are only...

    visit to Oncologist
went to see oncologist yesterday Clives swallowing is bad again. Soup only and yoghurt drinks, also a few aches and pains on breastbone/ shoulder blade. He had a barium swallow to see how things were flowing when swallowing, there is a narrowing but oncologist wants to still go ahead with Third taxotere round then scan and get straight on to radiotherapy for 2 weeks, which he says should help the swallowing. So we'll keep on pureeing for the next few weeks, great! He finds it quite depressing not...

    Alex
Pulmonary Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma - EHE My name is Alex and I have just been diagnosed with EHE. The local hospital is unable to help me, indeed most of them had never heard of the condition, and I have been referred to Christies Hospital in Manchester. I have looked at several websites and to be honest most of them are written in medical jargon and very low on how EHE is caught, treated or of survival rates. I would be delighted if anyone with EHE, or know of family / friends suffering...

    The first FEC
The day finally dawned when I was to have my first chemo!!!! Oh the excitement of it! Emmet, our youngest, was really playing up this morning and leading up to saying he didn't want to go to school. We managed to jolly him out of it - which was great because it meant that Brendan could stay at my appointment with me. Half way to the hospital we got a call from the school saying Emmet needed his asthma inhallers and didn't seem to have them with him..... so Brendan dropped me off and headed home...

shaky start this morning - bit better now
Had a very shaky start to the day this morning. Had only been up for about half an hour when the tears came and wouldn't stop. Cried solidly for about an hour. But feel a bit better now. Really touched by some of the comments after my rant yesterday. And everyone was so right in what they said about people's support. I definitely think that going through bereavement, illness, hard times in whatever shape or form makes you a more compassionate, courageous person. Far too many people to thank all...
