Thank you for all for your comments and support. I am now on week two and think I am slowly getting better. Spoke with somebody who was starting yesterday and she said she felt exactly as I did with her planning session, even before radiotherapy and I hadn't even mentioned how I felt, so made me feel better knowing not just me. One more request from anyone who has finished. Any advice as to whether to put aqueous cream on every day before any problems or wait and see how bad it gets.
All went well with hubby's first chemo yesterday - the only hiccup being that there was no parking spot outside the unit so I had to drop him off, then drive round the hospital to find a place and leg it back. Lo and behold as I arrived at the unit doors I espied a parking space!
Once treatment started hubby realised he had made a mistake with the reading material - a newspaper, too big to handle. Instead he dozed through the bits in between the nurse fiddling. Well doing her job really but...
Hi guys, havn't been on here for a while so thought i'd stop being lazy and update. We had the most fantastic holiday in Italy and it was so what we all needed. I felt completly recovered from the surgeries, relaxed and got a lovely healthy looking tan. Most importantly we had so much fun together as a family. If anybody wants an Italian reccomendation let me know. The only problem was that we had to come home.....Boooo!
6 days later was the 1st chemo, i was nervous but yes not nearly as...
Date 20th July 2010. Hello to Everyone and a massive Thank You to the people who wrote after my first Blog. I really do appreciate the help that you Guys and Girls give. It is not easy as well you all know. The Spinnaker Tower was on the menu for me today, being a belated Birthday treat. The three of Us went, the three being Me, Mike(Hubby) and my Cancer! It really has taken over everything. I am walking along and I almost want to scream to everyone that I am walking around with my Cancer! What that...

…….naughtiest things! Who said pets are good for you? Therapeutic? Reduce stress levels? Excuse me whilst I splutter into my cup of tea. The Bad Fairy household is a bit of a zoo. Not a proper zoo, we don’t have a giraffe, a hippopotamus nor an elephant. (Although the jury is out on the elephant after a rather large hole appeared in the bottom field…..suspicions have been voiced that a rogue elephant may be trying to break in!) We did have some orphaned lambs that...
If anyone with rectal cancer would like to hear about my tretment and experiences just ask.
My partner goes in hospital on Friday for a lymphendectomy. He has had melonoma outside the body for the past 5 years on and off. The news that it had spread to the inside left me with a feeling in the pit of my stomach I cant explain. I have read many stories on here about this operation but none about follow up treatment or possible outcomes. We havent been told anything other than the biopsies and CT scan show it has spread to the lymph nodes in the groin and under the armpits. The consultant just...
Just worked it out and it a bit over a month since the operation, blimey doesn't time fly! Knowing, that I'm pleased at the progress I'm making in getting back to normal, everyone was telling me it would be so slow. Hopefully it just means I am doing well and I won't get a big suprise later on that I will regret.
