life after cancer!!

Less than one minute read time.

just to reasure any "young" cancer patient that there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel!! my appearance has totally changed after a mastectomy & chemo ( long brown hair all gone!!) i now am waiting for reconstruction to level everything out and have a fond affilliation with my chicken fillet ( does the job!! ) i refused to wear a wig and after having my head completely shaved in march i am now sporting a chic pixie crop ( salt & pepper), grey & white mix but rather fetching or so i am told! yes i miss the old me but she's not coming back, the new me is a survivor and has so much to live for!! i feel thankful for life itself and give myself a good slap when the misery monsters take over!! after all i am 43 and so in the prime of life!! xxxxxxx

Good for you! At 56 I still feel that I have a whole lot of living to do ahead of me.

Cancer is devastating whatever your age but even more so for those who fear they may not reach 40.

As you say life do's not necessarily have to end due to cancer.

    Good Luck Love Julie X

Hi Sally, count me in!  I had my breast cancer removed (lump + bits of my breast + lymph node) last year at the tender age of 52.  But as you said: at 52 (nearly 53 now!) I'm still at the prime of my life - no time for 'misery monsters'!

    All the best
