Is anyone else suffering herceptin side effects?
I have got through a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy fairly unscathed. However, I've had my first dose of herceptin (that I know I'm lucky to have) but it left me very tired and feeling 'drugged up' for about a week. Can anyone share there experience of herceptin with me - is this a 'one off' and my body will get used to it or am I to expect the same side effects from the next 16 doses?

    A LIFT
Have had some excellent news. Half way through 6 lots of Chemo for locally advanced Breast Cancer - my tumor has shrunk dramatically. My Consultant couldn't even feel it. A small thing, but God it given me a boost !!

Is this a familiar story? UPDATED
Updated .... I am the sister of a fantastic 53 year old man who has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. It was diagnosed in May 2002 after a series of personal challenges, including the sudden and unexpected death of his brother-in-law who was not even 40! Initially he was treated initially with chemotherapy but ultimately in December of the same year my brother had an allogeneric bone marrow transplant. He made a fantastic recovery, he found a new job and all was looking good. For 6 years he was free...

    Three Chemos .....two hospital stays
Just returned home after yet another spell in hospital. Three chemos down and two hospital stays with unknown infections it looks lke its going to be a long haul. After a variety of tests ( just like last time) the doctors were no nearer the truth , one thought it was an infection in my Hickman line , another thought the infection was caused by the open wound on my back. Finally one "brave" doctor admitted they hadnt really got to the bottom of it- I like honesty. So where do I go from here. Next...

My Husband has just been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to his spine. Its been a nightmare. he's just had a biopsy so waiting for those results plus waiting for radio therapy to start on his spine a week Monday. Its totaly consumed our lives at the moment. Plus to add to the misery my poor old Dad has been diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer !!

Well its what we all dread and hope never happens but looks like Im back on the rollercoaster again! Havent felt well for weeks, and couldnt exactly put my finger on it but as we all know we know our own bodies pretty well. After much harrassment from members of this site ( who will remain unamed!) lol I made an appointment with my gp yesterday. Outcome, lots of blood taken - (at least 4 blackpuddings worth) some tamazapan to help me sleep and an urgent referal back to breast clinic. Ok I thought...

    We don't deserve this
I am the kind of person who puts up with things and then once in a while I get really angry and explode. That is what I am doing right now so I thought I'd write it down. I've just found out that yet another one of our 'members' may not be who they say they are. I shouldn't be surprised because this is after all the internet and it just goes to show what world we live in that some individuals feel the need to make up an illness to get some attention. If I am wrong please tell me. Well let me...
