New to site - mum just diagnosed
Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer just last week and we are stumbling around in the dark. She had a bronchoscopy last week and we see a specialist tomorrow. I am sure the hospital she is going to is good but wanted some independent information about it. Does anyone know where I might find this? I was recommended the Drfosterhealth.co.uk website but not much joy there.

    chordoma
I've just returned from hospital after a chordoma excision at the base of the spine. Coccyx and part of sacrum removed. Nerves have been affected meaning I have bowel and bladder complications - still have a catheter in place. Swelling in buttock area means its uncomfortable to sit down. I would love to hear from anyone who has been through similar experience

    I'm tired
I completed my 9th thoracentesis today. I am pretty tired of them I get sooooooo anxious before them, for anticipated pain, whether it's there or not. My pressure goes sky high, my fingers turn a lovely dusky shade of gray/blue from taking such shallow breaths on top of shallow breaths. My hands shake some and I jump a bit whenever the doc touches me. You would think I would be accustomed to it, but I don't think you ever get used to pain, do 'ya? Today's pain wasn't as bad but I am still somewhat...

    ?Sunbathing? - HNPCC
I 've been reading up on my faulty gene ie HNPCC/Lynch Syndrome It predisposes me to cancer in a few different body areas, I've already had it in my bowel but, I have read that it also can increase the risk to my skin. I'm rather partial to a bikini and have even been known to go 'au natrel' in hotter climates. Does any1 know if I should give this pastime up for my health??

Why Do I feel so useless
I feel so bloody useless. I live 30 miles away from my mum and dad, have a busy job that requires me to be on top of my game otherwise I put lifes at risk and I feel I cannot do enough to help. I love my mum so much and want to spend every minute of every day with her but it is just not possible but I feel bad about it. My sister is always there at the right time helping out and being all practical and I am not. When I get to visit I am always jolly and make her laugh and that makes me happy...

    Info on pancreatic cancer
Hi all Just wondering if anyone had any info on pancreatic cancer. I am a carer with husband with pancreatic cancer. Next week is last week of chemo. First scan showed no movement including progression. Next scan in 2 weeks. What can I expect? Is there a possibility that it could have stayed the same or is it likely that it will have got used to the chemo and progressed. I know every case will be different. I suppose the stress starts now that chemo has finished.

Panic setting in - brain surgery
Having waited 2 months to find out how they were going to treat this "beast" in my brain, surgery is my only real option of destroying it & maintaining my quality of life. Radiotherapy will not do it. I go in tomorrow & they operate on tuesday. The risks of dying during surgery have just hit me. I'm a survivor - I don't want to go - too much damage to do yet! I've coped well so far, but now I feel like going into hiding & not doing it. I will, of course, do it, otherwise I've no chance of living...
