So, it all began about 3 years ago now. I was working in a clothes shop and I felt the need to go to the toilet so I went and I noticed that my nickers were wet as if I'd wet myself, concerned I kept an eye on it and it happened again so I went to the shop and brought some sanitary towels to wear to catch the 'water'. Little did I know this was the start, this kept happening over a number of days then suddenly stopped.
It was a couple of weeks later it happened again but this time...
I've just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at a music festival. trying to do normal daft stuff. But what hit me was how tired I got and that's even before the chemo starts.
My chemo starts on Friday and I don't think I can read anymore about the side effects I may experience. From other posts I realise we're all very different and whether we get some, all or no side effects seems a bit of a lottery.
Friday can't come quick enough. After all the scans and tests and consultations...
Have just tried Aloe Vera Juice for the first time
Found it very refreshing and soothing. The tropical one is best.
My mum has ovarian cancer. She has been battling for the last 5 years and this is her 3rd recurrence.. After ascites constantly building up, she has had a permanent drain fitted and has been in hospital for over a week now. She is extremely poorly at the moment. We were told 2 weeks ago that the chemo had stopped working - resulting in the fluid build up. She can't eat, sleep or walk properly at the moment and it is heart breaking. I am 22 years old.. And also lost my dad last year. I have quit my...
Before my diagnosis, I had little experience of cancer. I was offered the cold cap but due to time practicalities, decided to go without. However, despite all the information I was given about my hair falling out during chemo, naively I thought that due to the thickness of my hair, perhaps I would be the exception? Or if not, maybe I could get away with thin hair for a while. Wrong!
Lots of really really sad tears today. Not for any particular reason, but just incredibly sad. I'm just wondering when the tears stop. I'm waiting for them to stop. I'm waiting to stop grieving. I'm waiting to stop feeling hollow. I'm waiting for something to feel truly worthwhile. I wonder when I will stop having that feeling of dread inside when I deliberate my future. Im pushing on as I have no alternative but I feel like life is happening to everyone else but me. I'm ashamed of myself sometimes...
Hi Ladies,
Can any Ladies tell me where to buy a soft hair brush for my rapidly thinning hair. I was lucky enough to keep my hair after treatment for DCIS breast cancer but age and Thyroid problems are causing my hair to thin and my scalp to become sore. Know there are a lot of ladies undergoing Chemotherapy who have lost or are losing hair so hope you don't mind if I ask.
Take care everyone , love and hugs Pat xx
PRIMARY PERITONEAL CANCER I would love to hear from an expert who understands this rare cancer. I was diagnosed six weeks ago with terminal cancer of the omentum poorly differentiated and assumed to have been generated by a primary breast cancer I had exactly a year ago, but following further investigation of the biopsy, which I am told was sent "all over the place" I have now had a confirmation that it is instead a Primary Peritoneal Cancer. It is, I am told, still terminal and particularly as...
Hi I'm new to the online community.
My partner was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
Does anyone know of any hospitals for cancer that I can transfer him too x
To blog or not to blog? I’m usually fairly private and prefer to keep my own council. But cancer is a big deal, hacking into so many of our lives. And seeing as writing is one of my greatest joys and this platform is particularly for those of us affected by cancer, perhaps writing about entering this brave new world, will be a positive thing. Like a travel diary perhaps. See I’ve talked myself into it; clearly easily influenced.
Just to warn you though, having just re-read this first post which...
